Cat Sitting in Gilbert, AZ

I love cats! I grew up with cats my entire life, and I have always rescued and adopted pets from local animal shelters. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and when I first relocated to Arizona, I was an English teacher and moved out on my own. I adopted two cats and named them Cubs and Sox. I grew up as an avid baseball fan, so it was only fitting. In fact, you can check out Episode 148 on the Last Call Baseball podcast. I was interviewed for my love of cats and baseball. apple.co/2INFKC8

Currently, I have three pets: Romeo, Flower, and Daisy Mae. Romeo is a tuxedo cat who was a stray that visited my grandma often. He was always super-friendly, so we rescued him from her front porch. Flower was part of the San Francisco SPCA and Macy's Holiday Windows program...

Currently, I have three pets: Romeo, Flower, and Daisy Mae. Romeo is a tuxedo cat who was a stray that visited my grandma often. He was always super-friendly, so we rescued him from her front porch. Flower was part of the San Francisco SPCA and Macy's Holiday Windows program. Each winter holiday season, the SF SPCA decorates the large Macy's store windows in Union Square with shelter animals available for adoption. That is where I fell in love with our beautiful Flower. Flower is a Lilac Point Snowshoe with the most gorgeous blue eyes. Daisy Mae is my dog, whom I adopted a few years ago through the Humane Society of Wickenburg. She and her littermates had been left in a box in the open desert, where she was found at 5 days old. She is a complete sweetheart.

Outside of caring for our pets and foster cats, I have my family and my career. I married my husband 20+ years ago, and we have one daughter. I have spent my career in the field of education. During the early days of the pandemic, I became certified to foster cats that require special care, such as those recovering from surgery. I have since fostered cats through the Arizona Humane Society and have gained a lot of cat-sitting experience with 75+ cat-sitting jobs completed.

I will take care of all essentials when I visit with your cat(s), including refreshing food and water, administering medication when needed, playing with your cat, petting your cat, scooping the litter box, and sending you a message and photo after every visit.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have had cats my entire life. I have been cat-sitting since early 2023 and have completed over 75 cat-sitting jobs.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love to give the cats lots of attention and play with them. Each one has its own unique personality. That makes it fun.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I've had quite a few that are really special. The ones that stand out the most are the ones where the cats are super friendly and want lots of attention. Their personalities just come through so much, and it makes it a lot of fun. I once took care of 11 cats who were all super-friendly. I really got to know each one's personality over the course of a week.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 2 sweet kitties - Flower, a blue-eyed Lilac Point Snowshoe, and Romeo, a handsome Tuxedo. Both are rescues.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Be sure to meet them prior to the reservation, ask any questions you may have, and then trust your instincts.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I listen to their stories and questions about their cats and offer any tips and tricks from my own experiences. I do my best to be as helpful as possible.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure the outside doors remain closed, and I make sure not to open or close doors that aren't already open or closed. This ensures that the cat has full access to exactly the area the pet parent intended. I also make sure to clean up food containers and not leave anything out that could be dangerous (like a canned food container).

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am often available during the holidays. I keep my calendar up to date, so it’s easy to see if I’m available.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I find that cats love to play chase, so a fun, small toy that crinkles or makes a noise that I can toss for them to chase is always a hit.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I leave them be. Cats who are timid or anxious do not want to be approached. They are skeptical of whoever is visiting. I just let them come to me in their own time. I do my best to be quiet and calm to help them feel more comfortable.

Wendy was great with sending pictures and a note. There were a few disappointing aspects of her care cleanliness wise and I sent feedback via private message. I am sure she will use the feedback and improve and be ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Gilbert cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
