Cat Sitting in Phoenix, AZ

Hi Everyone! I have been cat sitting in Tucson for the last three years as I attended UofA for veterinary science and biology. I start vet school in January of 2027 and in between seasonal/temporary jobs I will be in Phoenix available for cat sitting! My calendar is up to date and I have experience with all kinds of cats and the different needs they have. The rest of my profile is below, thank you!

I have experience cat sitting and have previously worked as a veterinary technician specializing in cats. I had to stop due to scheduling conflicts while I complete my undergraduate degree in biology and veterinary science. However, I love all things cats and take any opportunity I can get to spend time with cats! Whether that be pet sitting, at work, family pets, or my own kitties. I truly enjoy being around cats and working to make them as comfortable and happy as possible! I have behavior training and know how to work with frightened kitties and help them be as comfortable as possible in their environment and around me...

I have behavior training and know how to work with frightened kitties and help them be as comfortable as possible in their environment and around me. I also have experience dealing with medications, injections, and SubQ fluids. I love cats more than anything in the world and I thoroughly enjoy caring for them in anyway I can! I would love to pet sit for any cat as I know how stressful it can be for a cat when an owner is out of town. I work to ensure that cats are as relaxed and comfortable as possible around me and are able to remain calm and stress free until their owner returns home. I also have previous experience working in an animal shelter and with bottle baby kittens. Cats are truly my passion and I want to extend that love of cats to anyone who needs it! As a cat owner myself I know how stressful it can be to leave your beloved kitties in someone else’s care but I aspire to work to ensure both client and kitty are comfortable and satisfied with my service. I have experience medicating cats and I know how important it is that they get medication on time. I am also willing to stay overnight with kitties if that would make both owner and pet feel more comfortable with my service. Thank you!

I have been cat sitting for Meowtel since 2023 and I have gotten a few repeated questions quite often that I am going to answer here!

1. How do we communicate?
I cannot communicate via phone number per Meowtel policies, the app is a great way to communicate and I’m always reachable through Meowtels app!

2. Are you available during the holidays?
I am available during the holidays! If there is a day that I am not available then Meowtel will not let you select that day when making a reservation. However, do not hesitate to reach out to see if there’s something we can arrange or if you might need to go with a different cat sitter.

3. Will you be able to give my cat medication?
I can give medications! I have experience giving all kinds of medications so don’t hesitate to reach out if your kitty needs some special attention.

4. When can we arrange a meet and greet?
I am happy to arrange a meet and greet but will not do so unless an official reservation has been made. Although, if you have any concerns that you want to address prior to making a reservation please feel free to reach out via Meowtels chat feature

5. Just an fyi, my hair is brown now. I used to bleach it and no longer do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Learn More About Lexie

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for several years and have delt with many different cat personalities. All of which I have learned from experience how to handle in the safest way possible that is also the least stressful.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy getting to spend time with the kitties and sending pictures to the owner. My favorite pictures show the cats personality and assure the owner that they’re happy and well cared for.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have three kitties! My old lady is Bailey (20 this year) My adult is Fernie (7 this year) My kitten is Mary (3 this year) They each have very unique personalities and I love spending time with all of them. Bailey only wants to be petted, if she had it her way she would get 24/7 pets. Fernie prefers to sit near my while I do homework or watch tv. Lastly, Mary as the baby only wants to play and I’m happy to oblige her wishes.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always like to meet the cat beforehand (I understand that’s not always an option and try to make myself available anyway possible to do what’s best for the kitty). I try and make myself available to go to the house to meet the kitty, review feeding schedule and the litter box situation. I always ask about medication (if they are on any) and answer any questions a pet parent might have for me. Once the reservation begins I always communicate daily about how the pet is doing (which includes a picture of the lovely kitty/kitties).

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I am particular at double checking that any door I open is locked when I leave. All security measures expressed to me by clients will be followed as directed.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am available during the holidays. Any schedule restraints will be put on my availability calendar but don’t hesitate to reach out for more information!

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love using the mouse toys to play with my own cats and often find that many cats respond well to them! Another classic toy is the wand toy, many cats enjoy those and they can be quite a bit of fun!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I find it is best to introduce myself to the cat while the owner is present (complimentary meet and greet is included with the reservation). Most cats will approach me once the owner is gone, if they do not I will approach them using the Ninety-Ten rule. This means that I approach 90% of the way and allow them to approach the other 10%, if they clearly do not want me to touch them I won’t and I will simply take a picture and make sure their food and litter box is given/cleaned as directed. If they do want pets, I will happily oblige. If an anxious kitty requires a medication, I will start with petting and positive interaction before holding them safely and giving the medication. Most kitties from my experience are irritated after getting the medication at which point I will let them decompress on their on.

Very professional and considerate! Lexie kept in touch with us and sent us lots of nice photos of the cats when she checked in on them! :) We felt secure knowing that if the cats did need anything we hadn't planned for, she would be able to handle it. We highly recommend Lexie! 😻

Lexie cared for our cats for a week over Christmas break and although I had already read her many 5 star reviews, she definitely exceeded my expectations! Lexie’s communications were excellent- she let me know when she was at the house, sent photos of the cats and their food bowls and let me know when she was leaving. The cats were in great shape when we returned. I look forward to using Lexi’s services again!

Lexie watched my 2 cats for the second time. I feel so comfortable leaving her in charge. At the last minute, I found out my cat had to take a pill every day, and Lexie was great with that- I know it wasn’t easy. She’s completely reliable and has great communication skills, and I’ll use her for as long as she’s available. I highly recommend Lexie.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Phoenix cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
