Cat Sitting in Auburn, CA
While in your home, I will always clean and refresh water, litter boxes, and food as per your instructions. Of course, playtime or snuggle time is part of every visit... I have been acting as a cat sitter for friends and family for over 20 years. I love cats and have never lived in a home without at least one. I currently live with two rescue cats, Furcules and Fuzzy Gillespie. I especially love working with senior cats and those who might require a little special TLC, as well as those with behavioral challenges. Cranky kitties are always welcome, but of course, friendly, young, healthy cats are welcome too.
While in your home, I will always clean and refresh water, litter boxes, and food as per your instructions. Of course, playtime or snuggle time is part of every visit. I have extensive experience with past pets administering medications and special diets and have been trained by my vet's staff on providing subcutaneous fluids and injections. I am also happy to pick up mail, bring in packages, and clean up any pet-related messes such as hairballs or accidents. I will also be happy to water your indoor plants if you provide a schedule/instructions. If you have other needs, please let me know - I'd love to work with you.
I live and work in Auburn, but will travel throughout western and central Placer County - Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Colfax, and all points in between - to provide service. Additionally, I may consider providing service in neighboring counties or for more distant owners as well, on a case by case basis.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love to work with a shy or anxious cat and see them come out of their shell to hang out with me. I also love being able to provide the kind of service and attention I would want for my own pets.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I love to hang out with all of my clients but my favorite reservations are those where I can make a difference to someone - last minute reservations due to family emergencies, medicating a sick kitty, or taking a holiday reservation so someone can go visit with their out of town family are my favorites.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available and willing to work for all major holidays. I love to visit with your pets so you can feel comfortable going out of town.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Peacefully. One of the things I do when in a client's house is narrate everything I'm doing out loud. I find that talking really helps the cat to acclimate quickly. The other thing I'll do is sit quietly - as close as the pet will allow - so they can see and smell me. I've found that these two things together work wonders for the shy and anxious cats.

Lorena is amazing with my rescue kitty Harper Lee! I rely on her exceptionally cute and sometimes hilarious photos for my furbaby photo album as I fail to take photos on my own. Lorena always tries to get Harper to play even though she is really one of the laziest kitties! I highly recommend Lorena as she loves cats and takes the time to make her visits calming for my kitty who misses me when I’m not home.

Lorena is an absolute pleasure to work with. My cats, even my shy kitty, came out to socialize with her. She did an excellent job caring for my kitties. Even my old 19 year old Ragdoll fell asleep on her while she brushed her! The pictures she shared with me every day were amazing. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Auburn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
