I tend to be the person shy animals come to when they desire human comfort. That said, I do not feel that I should impose myself upon animals that don't want affection... I have been actively cat sitting since 2021, although I have grown up around cats my entire life and greatly enjoy caring for them. Not only have I owned them myself, but I have also helped take care of those belonging to friends and family in addition to experience with volunteering and fostering animals since childhood.
I tend to be the person shy animals come to when they desire human comfort. That said, I do not feel that I should impose myself upon animals that don't want affection. Just like humans, some animals prefer less contact than others, and I believe it is only right to give them their space. As long as they are happy, fed and cared for, I will let them lounge as they please. If a cat wants my attention I will gladly bask in their love and offer tons of play time, but if they're more introverted I don't mind stepping back and allowing them to be comfortable in their solitude.
I have several years of experience volunteering with animal shelters and have fostered kittens since my high school days. I've provided oral medications to cats young and old, and have experience with caring for cats with dietary restrictions, including kidney disease managed by a strict diet; I will make sure to closely monitor the health needs of your fur babies!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been formally cat sitting since 2021, although I have watched cats and other pets for family and friends since my teen years.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Cats are one of my favorite animals, and for the ones that enjoy the company, I like getting to know their unique personalities. Whether during cuddles or play it’s always fun to see each cats unique traits.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats, Doctor Severus Strange, MD (7yrs/m) and The Mistress Athena (1yr/f), as well as a dog Winifred Ursa (2yrs/f), although we are currently rooming with family and their pets. Fun fact - my mom has Doctor Sev’s littermates and mother!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! Most of my family is local, so it is easy to stay here for the holidays. When I do travel it is usually in the off-season.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I try not to invade their space too much, use a gentle voice as I do activities in the home (setting up food and cleaning the litter). I do try to make sure I get eyes on the cat at every visit with some slow blinks, and I will talk so they get used to my voice. Also if treats are an option I will leave some around the home for them to find after I leave.

Roxana is hands down the best cat sitter in the biz! My cats felt comfortable with her right away and so did I. I’m usually so stressed when I have to leave them in someone else’s hands but she made me feel at easy the whole time I was on my trip. She updated me after each visit and sent me the cutest pictures and videos! When I came home, my cats weren’t as visibly upset with me as they usually are when I leave them and I know it’s because they were well taken care of while I was gone. I could not be more grateful for Roxana.

Roxana was awesome. Our shy cat, Loki, was friendly and comfortable with her during the meet and greet. He typically hides from strangers, so it made us happy to see him so comfortable with Roxana. I took our other cat, Ghost, to the vet the day before our reservation and found out he has a protein allergy and needed to be put on special food. I texted the info to Roxana along with different feeding instructions. She was understanding and flexible. The kitties liked her and we got updates and photos when she was taking care of them. We recommend her and will not hesitate to book her again for future kitty sitting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Chula Vista cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $33.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

I loved having Roxana as our cat sitter! Very friendly and my shy kitty warmed right up to her! She was so attentive to Mellie's desire for pets or play when she visited, and she kept quite the observant eye on Mel's health. (Roxana noticed Mellie had a spot in her eye the first night she visited, when I had forgotten to mention she's half blind in one eye!)
