What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

On Meowtel - I have been offering cat sitting since May 2025 and have really been enjoying it. In general I have off and on offered cat sitting my entire adult life.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

There are many things I enjoy about cat sitting! The things I enjoy most are getting to learn about their personalities. If they are a cuddler then I love getting to pet and snuggle them, but don’t mind if they like to be left alone and I’ll just say hello from afar. I also love playing with cats and figuring out what gets them excited.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I am a very thorough and thoughtful person, and am very observant. I make sure I understand all the directions given for keeping the cat(s) and the home safe and secure, and I won’t hesitate to ask for clarification or if I’ve forgotten a detail.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am generally available for holidays except Christmas. If you don’t see my availability feel free to reach out anyways, I may be able to work something out.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The fishing pole toy! I love playing with cats with that toy doing a lot of chasing and acrobatic jumps (if that is something the cat is into)

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I follow the directions given to me by the owner if they have any tips, since they know their cat best. In general I will move slowly and try to be as quiet as possible, I’ll do slow eye blinking with them when we have eye contact. And I won’t push the cat to interact with me if they don’t want to. If the cat is curious about me but is timid, I will squat or sit down and put out my hand for them to approach me and sniff if they want to, but I won’t move towards them, I let them decide.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
