*Schedule note: I work in education, so I’m generally working M-F from 7am-3:30pm. However, unless there are school events, which I know of well in advance, I am free in the evenings and weekends.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Prior to my current crew, I only ever had two cats at a time. Now we have five! The last one was a foster fail, but we couldn’t help ourselves. We have Pin, Kevin, Alice, Cleo, and Loki.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Don’t be shy about asking questions and be honest if your cat has any special needs. Some cats are very low maintenance and others are not, and that’s ok! The more information you can give your cat sitter, the more successful the visits will be. For example, if you have a kitty who gets stressed when you leave town and may go potty somewhere other than litter box, be honest with your cat sitter so he/she knows to survey the house for potty accidents. That’s only one example, but don’t be embarrassed to talk to your sitter about anything you are worried about.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am usually available during most holidays. I have grown children and a husband, who doesn’t like to travel, lol, so I stay close to home most of the time.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Some cats come right up to me and act like they’re my long-lost best friend, and others watch from a distance with hesitation. When that happens, I am very careful to try to be non-threatening. I talk to them in a quieter voice and try to not make any big or sudden movements. I also will often sit on the floor and play with a toy. Sometimes that helps to bring them out of their shell, when I go down to their level and try to engage. But I never force a cat to interact with me. If they want to just observe, that is fine as well.

Nicole is the best cat sitter we've ever had! She was so on it; the before and after pics were an assuring thing to get everyday while we were away. She took notes on the details of arming and de-arming our house alarm--which can be a tricky thing, so that was never a problem. Also our cats are a bit shy but she charmed them and brought them out with her warm and wonderful personality. She's a keeper!!

Nicole looked after my cat Ace while I was away in Spain. She was professional, punctual and I could tell right away when I met her very competent and great with cats. She communicated well and I received photos of my cat loving her! He has some kidney issues and has a special diet and that was no problem for her. You can definitely feel comfortable leaving your fluffy family member in her highly capable hands. Highly recommend!!!!

I have a few very shy cats — 1 of them now comes out of hiding when Nicole comes. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Encino cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $35.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Nicole was an amazing cat sitter. She took the time to meet them ahead of us leaving so they were super comfortable with her in advance. She watched them for 7 days taking pictures every day showing that everything was cleaned and they were fed, played with and very happy! Would highly recommend! 😻
