Hi fellow feline loving friends! My name is August (they/them) 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈and welcome to my cat sitting page. I am honored you would consider me to care for one of the most important members of your family. Please read below to learn more about me and the services I offer! About Me: I am originally from the Inland Empire and currently live in Los Angeles. I am a proud parent of two 14 year old kitties that are my world! Karley is my cuddly, sweet tortoiseshell calico with kidney disease and asthma (she takes daily oral medication and an inhaler). Blake is my talkative, playful tuxedo kitty who loves to perch on my lap (she is doing so as I write this)! I have been cat sitting since 2015 and have been a full-time cat sitter for over 3 years now. My earliest memory that I can recall is meeting a stray cat for the first time that jumped the fence into our backyard, and ever since then I’ve had an unwavering love for cats. My childhood dream was to be able to work with cats, and for the early part of my adult life I pursued becoming a veterinarian. To prepare for veterinary school, I gained as much experience working with cats and other animals as I could. I worked as a veterinary assistant in an emergency animal hospital and I was the lead caretaker for an animal rescue in the neonatal kitten program. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Biology and attended a semester of veterinary school before realizing that my high level of intuition and empathy were not best suited for the veterinary field. Being immersed in high-stress environments and continually witnessing animal pain took a toll on me. I realized that my experience, knowledge, and skillset were of best use working with animals in their comfortable home environments. After leaving vet school, I rediscovered my love for cat sitting and decided to pursue it full-time. I found the perfect balance of utilizing my medical knowledge and skill sets, while still contributing to the best quality care to the cats I love so much. My experience puts me at an advantage to be able to easily recognize and address medical concerns, and provide care to just about any kitty with special needs. Here are some examples of past cat clients I have worked with, and I am highly comfortable caring for: High-anxiety cats that require behavior awareness and medication. Diabetic kitties that need insulin injections and blood glucose monitoring. Asthmatic cats needing daily inhaler medication. Cats with kidney disease that require subcutaneous fluid injections and oral medications. Sphynx, Persian, and Bengal kitties who need breed specific care and considerations. Senior cats who have mobility challenges and need extra medical support. Kittens and high-energy cats who need extra playtime and exercise. Semi-feral or very shy cats that need extra patience and time to get comfortable. Of course, if you have a healthy low-maintenance kitty I am very happy to care for them as well! If your cat has any special needs, please make sure to mention those when submitting a booking request. Depending on the nature of your cat’s needs, I may require 45 minute visits to ensure enough time and attention are spent giving proper care to your kitties. August came through in a clutch when my cat unfortunately did not mesh well with the original sitter (and I was already out if the country!). Cancellation Policy
Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation and the sitter will not receive any earnings.
Customers will receive a 50% refund and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.
No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
The Meowtel Promise & Satisfaction Guarantee
We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.

We recommend that you book daily visits with your sitter to keep your cats in their routine and to help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each Meowtel cat sitting visit will include the whole 9 yards: feeding, refreshing the water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, as well as any special requests you may have. We know every kitty is different and that's why we offer tailored, in-home services since cats don't do well outside their own homes. Plus, every reservation comes with a free Meet & Greet so you can meet your sitter before you leave to ensure it will be a purrfect fit.
