What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have 7 years of experience caring for cats - including taking care of my own cat through hospice & palliative care, volunteering at rescues, as well as catsitting for my neighbours & friends’ cats.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love that cats can be so different from one another - getting to know all of their little quirks and silly things about their specific personalities is the best part. Gaining their acceptance and trust (as a loyal servant) is always the best feeling in the world.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience & repetition is key. Timid or anxious cats tend to be terrified by sudden changes or unexpected things popping up in their routine led lives, such as a strange new hooman in their safety zone aka home (honestly, sames). Even if it’s something as simple as sitting next to their hiding spot and just talking to them in a low soothing voice for a prolonged period of time each visit, I would be happy to do so. Knowing how to read their body language is a huge advantage, since progress might be made via a friendly tail, a relaxing of the airplane ears, or eventually the coveted slow blinks of eye contact. Baby steps!

Luanne is my go to pet sitter whenever me and my partner go on vacation. We have three animals (one small pup, one senior dog, and one senior cat). Each animal has their own unique personality and quirks but Luanne is able to make sure all of them are well taken care of, giving them attention, treats, cuddles, walks and fun time as they need it! Oh yes, Luanne's whole world is about my animals when she's pet sitting and I trust her with all three animals not only because she is able to give them the love and care that I would give my pets, but Luanne also is a very responsible animal parent. I watched her care for an old and dying senior cat, which had to be medicated multiple times a day and near the end of it's life, be given an IV drip. Luanne was confident yet gentle with her administration skills, while affectionately loving the cat before and after. Luanne takes her time with the animals and doesn't rush it, for their comfort, of course. I never hesitate to have Luanne take care of my pets. I know my animals would be her number one priority and I rest assured knowing that my babies are in the best of hands!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
