What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been taking care of peoples pets for over 20 years. Cats, dogs, rabbits, fish and even rats! Cats are my ultimate favorite animal and happy to spend time with them in whatever capacity they require. Playing, brushing, feeding, cleaning and spoiling- whatever they need, I’m here for it.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Some people and some cats are very particular about their requirements for care. Don’t be afraid to ask for specific things you’d like your cat sitter to do, and remember there is no such thing as too much information! I always like to know if the cat has a particular eat/play/sleep schedule, if they’ve got allergies or snack preferences, how you like the litter box cleaned (where to dispose of the waste), and I always encourage people to leave their cats veterinary information, just in case any emergency arises.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I’ve found that spending time sitting or laying down on the floor is often a good start to get a timid or anxious cat to let its guard down. Usually after several minutes of being at their level, their curiosity gives them the courage to investigate me which will get them a treat reward for their bravery!

Sarah was my first experience with Meowtel and I could not be happier! Sarah watched my kitty for a week and went above and beyond to make sure he was spoiled! She took pictures and sent an update every day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was traveling. My kitty is a very social boy and likes to cuddle, and I could tell that he had gotten lots of love and cuddles while I was gone. Sarah is a fast communicator, super kind and cool, and goes out of her way to make sure a kitty is cared for. I will absolutely be booking her again the next time I travel!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
