I am familiar with all medications including subq fluids, insulin (testing and administering) pills, drops etc… Have taken care of two diabetic seniors in my home. I have worked with tnr programs to help a colony get fixed, vaccinated and even find homes for some.
My experience with cats goes back to 2001, both my own cats and petsitting for others.
I live in the Oakland area and do own my own vehicle for getting around.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have helped folks with in home quick visits for some playtime, litter clean-up feeding and social time. I have also done multiple overnight stays. I first began helping friends with their cats in 2001. I have become friends with semi-agressive cats, super shy cats and adore the social in you face stage ten clingers and cuddlers. I have experience with cats who are on special diets for weight or other health issues. All types of medications. I volunteered at a non-profit clinic giving vaccinations, de-wormers, paw trims and other simple needs. I also really enjoy petting all the kitties and find it very fulfiling. I am interested in overnight/vacation/holiday stays and daily visits.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Making sure the kitties feel loved and have attention while their family is away. Meeting and be-friending other cats. Making sure they know they are not alone while the family is away.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Little Miss Elliott was a stray I pulled from an empty lot. Her siblings had all passed and the mother was nowhere around. I scooped her into a bucket and brought her home. She was under a pound. I took her in for vet care and spay when she was ready. A friend adopted her and I enjoyed our overnights while he was away. Elliott turned out to be 100% deaf but still loved a good romp and game of hide and seek.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Mr Whiskey is a maine coon/ragdoll mix who is 14 years young. Omar Little is a big house panther who is 6 and a half.

My cat, Peggy, is a sweetie, but she's very fearful of people she doesn't know - her usual practice is to hide under a bed until they're gone. Dawn was able to feed her, give her a pill, and even play with her. She's a cat whisperer! She's also very professional and accommodating - she came ridiculously early every morning to keep Peggy's pill schedule. I feel very fortunate to have found Dawn.

Dawn was great with our cats. She sent great updates with videos and dealt with some vomit. And when we thought we may not make it back the day we were supposed to die to flight delays, she was very accommodating and said she'd do a visit the next day if we needed it despite being booked up.

Dawn took amazing care of our two cats while we were gone. She went above and beyond to play with them, give medications, and clean up after a marking incident. Will definitely book again!

Dawn was absolutely amazing with our cat. From the very beginning, she followed every instruction carefully and made sure he was happy, healthy, well-fed, watered, and clean. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was so attentive and responsible. She is definitely a cat person and truly cares about cats and animals in general — you can feel it immediately. What meant the most to us was how much our cat warmed up to her, more than he typically does with other people. It was clear that she didn’t just “check in” on him, but genuinely spent time showing him love and making sure he didn’t feel alone while we were away. We are so grateful for the care she provided and will absolutely be rebooking with her. Highly recommend!

Dawn took amazing care of our two senior kitties for 3 weeks! She took thorough notes at our meet and greet and followed through with all of the instructions. Her communication was excellent as she sent updates and photos for every visit. She was also flexible with extending a couple visits and adding an additional visit at the end.

Dawn was amazing! My shy and anxious orange boy took to her immediately. Food and litter were taken care of and left clean and perfect for when I arrived back home. She provided updates and pictures everyday and I highly recommend her to anyone.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Oakland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $39.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
