I owned a cat growing up who I completely fell in love with, and since then have loved kitties everywhere. I know how to make cats trust me and feel comfortable around me, and their happiness and comfort are my top priority. I am excellent at playtime and know how to make their normal games exciting as well as create new games that they will love... Diana's the name, and purrs are the game!

COVID UPDATE: I am vaccinated and have had 4 booster shots. I am no longer wearing a mask by default for meet and greets or sits, but I am more than happy to wear one if you would prefer me to. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
This year will be my fourth year with Meowtel specifically, but I have cat sit for years before that for neighbors and friends.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Being able to meet cats and make them feel as loved and cared for as humanly possibly is my favorite part of cat sitting.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat sitting reservation so far was when I held up a cat at a window to fake-hunt for some bugs that were flying around outside. It made him very happy and it was so fun to help him pretend-hunt!
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toys are probably wands as I can usually entice any cat to play with a wand. On the off-chance that they are tired of playing with a wand, I also have my own game that hasn't failed to get kitties playing yet!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always take care to walk into a home with cats quietly and with soft and low energy so that they don't get scared. If they are hiding, I sit a few feet away and talk in a soft voice and offer them toys or treats, but I always let them come out on their own time and also give them some time by themselves if they need to feel safe.

Diana was quick to respond to my request for a meet and greet ahead of our trip and took notes during the walkthrough. She was very thorough about checking their food and litter levels daily and was proactive about asking any clarifying questions she needed to ensure the best care of our kitties. She wrote thorough visit summaries and provided plenty of photos so we could rest assured that we would hear about anything that happened while we were out. I'm jealous she even got our more shy kitty to come greet her at the door! We will definitely be rebooking Diana, and I recommend her for your kitties as well!

I can't say enough positive things about Diana! First, she responds quickly to requests and provides lots of info from her visits. She also arrived right on time for our meet-and-greet -- that indicates reliability to me. Second, I have two cats who are usually shy (including one who is sometimes shy and sometimes snarky), but they warmed up to Diana right away! They can also be pretty finicky but they ate well when Diana was caring for them. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing what good care Diana was providing, and I arrived home after my four-day trip to two clearly contented and well-fed kitties. Diana asks smart questions and is detail-oriented; she is clearly experienced with cats, plays with them (I got lots of fun videos of playtime), feeds them, cleans their litter, changes their Litter Genie if it gets full, and just does an all-around great job! Highly recommended!

I turned to Meowtel because my usual sitter was unavailable for the holiday week. I had concerns about a stranger caring for my cats in my home while I was away, but Diana put all my fears to rest. She has a mellow and kind demeanor and the kitties took to her right away. She provided a thorough summary of each of her visits, letting me know if anything seemed amiss or unusual and detailing all her interactions with the cats. She went above and beyond, cleaning up cat yak and sweeping up scattered litter. Even though we arranged 20-minute visits, she found time to play with the cats and provide affection. She sent lots of pics and videos, which my kids and I looked forward to every day we were on vacation. She asked questions about the cats' behavior that showed her genuine concern for their good care. I could tell from the footage that the cats were happy to see her. I would definitely look for Diana again to care for my whisker buddies!

Diana was a wonderful caretaker for our 2 cuties! She asked lots of questions to confirm how we'd like the cats fed and cared for, and she immediately put them at ease at the first meet & great. She sent extensive updates and photos with each visit, I never felt like I was missing a second! She played with them both with the time available--the grumpy picky cat and the little crazy kitten both!-- and I know they loved their time with her. Cannot recommend her services enough!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Oakland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $40.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Diana was absolutely amazing!!! I'd known things would go good from reviews abd meeting-but her sitting for Thurston went beyond anything I could have hoped for. Excellent communication, pure adoration and abundant play time with our kitty - pictures , videos and details summaries if the fun, the chores and overall environment really helped me feel involved and updated like I was there. I feel even like I will NEED to book her again because Thurstons now attached too. From the progress notes and photos , Thurston bonded more each day to Diana being lime Parr of his family circle. Diane went above and beyond with everything and always asked clear questions as well as permission for anything new. we of course wanted her to be comfy in her overnight and make herself at home. but it was nice to be asked. I will love on my Lil boy when home( so excited) - and will have to step up my play time after Diana's creative and fun dedicated play time, lol.

terrific! needed care in food and play only for the day and yes, this was done with purification. however Diana also cleaned the litter and the mess from a Lil stinker kitty who likes to eat is toy worms. amazing on a short time window and EXACTLY what Thurston needed in playtime. .. as these were more play dates then overnight... Diana was able to enjoy just playing and wow does she exceed the normal play. some many creative games and videos, pic's to showcase. Thurston was a happy tired kitty when done.
