What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I love most about cat sitting is earning a cat’s trust. Cats are naturally independent and selective with their affection, so when one chooses to sit near you, purr, or seek out your company, it feels like a true honor. It means you've broken through their walls and they see you as safe and worthy of their attention. That quiet connection—built on patience and respect—is incredibly rewarding. I love being that steady, gentle presence for cats while their people are away, making sure they feel secure, seen, and loved in their own unique way.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I don’t currently have any cats, which feels strange because I’ve had cats all my life. My most recent companions were Alfie and Sophie—two incredible tortoiseshell cats with big personalities. Alfie was especially dear to me; we had a deep bond, and I cared for her through a serious illness. Sophie was wonderfully quirky and full of life until she passed from old age. While I’m not quite ready to adopt again, I miss the presence of cats deeply. Cat sitting helps me stay close to what I love and fill that cat-shaped space in my heart—at least for now.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I approach timid or anxious cats with patience, respect, and a calm presence. I never force interaction—instead, I let them set the pace and create a quiet, predictable environment. Having had several tortoiseshell cats, I’m very familiar with unpredictability and mood shifts. Torties have taught me to read subtle body language and respond with empathy. I know that trust with a nervous cat can take time, and I’m always honored when they choose to let me in. My goal is to make every cat feel safe and seen, no matter how shy or sensitive they may be.

Kristen was everything I hoped for and more!!! During the meet and greet l, I could tell right away she had a genuine love for pets. She attentive listened to all my concerns and instructions. Duirng my trip, Kristen made sure to seek out and take pictures of my kitties even though they decide to not be sociable and hide when she was here! Best was that I was able to enjoy my trip knowing my kitties were safe and in wonderful care! I will definitely hire Kristen for future trips!!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
