Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

While in college, I took care of a sweet, but extremely shy female cat. She kept her distance throughout 95% of the time that I spent with her. Food failed to entice her and even toys never got her much farther than the edge of her hiding space. Towards the end of our visits, I realized that she loved the windowsill. The blinds were typically closed but once I opened them and cracked open the window, she took her first cautious steps into the outside world. It was so rewarding seeing her enjoy her time sunbathing and listening to the wind. At the end of it all, she still never let me get within 5 feet of her but seeing her enjoy her window spot was just a beautiful feeling.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two cats; a sweet 2-year old calico named Tuba and a loud 1-year old lynx point named Kaiba! They’re still in the process of learning to share space together but they’ve both taught me so much about cats as a whole.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am typically available during holidays! My personal vacation time is flexible and I am a big planner so I will know many months in advance if I am planning to take time off.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love wand toys and the simplest one that my cats still love is just a piece of ribbon and a stick. Best of all, the ribbon can be replaced at a low cost for endless hours of play time. I have found that some of the best toys for my cats have been ones that involve me as well. Although a bowl of water will fascinate them for minutes on end, getting them to run, leap, and truly exercise often requires a bit of a workout on my part too.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience patience patience! I have found that it is more so about the quality of time than the length of it. As someone who adopted a VERY skittish cat, I always approach each interaction with a willingness to learn about the cat, on their own terms. In the case of cats that are more shy, I always appreciate any tips the family has and my priority is to provide a safe and comforting environment for the kitty.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
