I absolutely love cats, and I have had cats my entire life. I have cared for them and treated them for a wide variety of injuries, illnesses and conditions. I have also fostered kitties on a number of occasions, until such time as I could find them a new home, or get them to a no kill shelter where they could be cared for until they were adopted. I have always absolutely doted on my own kitties, but my most recent kitty died last year after a lengthy bout of kidney disease. She had just turned 17. I am just no ready to get another kitty yet.

I am currently semi retired, but I need an additional source of income... I absolutely love cats, and I have had cats my entire life. I have cared for them and treated them for a wide variety of injuries, illnesses and conditions. I have also fostered kitties on a number of occasions, until such time as I could find them a new home, or get them to a no kill shelter where they could be cared for until they were adopted. I have always absolutely doted on my own kitties, but my most recent kitty died last year after a lengthy bout of kidney disease. She had just turned 17. I am just no ready to get another kitty yet.

I am currently semi retired, but I need an additional source of income. I find the company of kitties very rewarding, so I decided cat sitting would be a great way of earning a little money. I have cat sit for a few friends in the past and always took the same great care of them that I took of my own kitties.

I am available nearly every day of the week at all times of the day as I have a cottage business making lotions and natural/organic cat toys to sell online which I can do any time of the days. I prefer to travel 10 miles or less from my location in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento.
Unfortunately, due to an incident I experienced, I can no longer accept modifications to reservations. I apologize for this inconvenience, but the incident affected me rather adversely.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have cared for my friend's kitties on a number of occasions off and on for decades, and my friends have helped me.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Helping my friends, so they can go have a vacation or whatever without having to worry about their kitties at home.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I don't have one as I just started. I don't think it's fair to try to make choices between my cat sitting appointments.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I did have a kitty, but she passed away last year of kidney disease. Her name was Mina Harker I still miss her

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Asking questions about their kitty's routine. What is their favourite food, favourite toy, do they have any litter box issues, tummy trouble, quirks, etc.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Double and triple check everything. When arriving, I look around to ascertain everything is just as I left it. I do a head count when arriving and departing. I always watch very carefully when I am entering and exiting because some kitties are FAST!! They can slip through the door so fast, and that can be disastrous. I always leave everything just as I found it.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes. I have no family, so holidays are open for me. What more do you want me to say, really?

What is your favorite cat toy?

The ones I make myself after finding out that a number of kitties actually swallow the polyester fibrefill in mass produced toys and it can block their intestines. They are natural/organic cat toys with only cotton fabric and thread, organic catnip and krinkle cut paper that they are unlikely to swallow like the polyester fibrefill. I created these especially for my little cat who just passed away. I named them after my kitty

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Give them their space, talk gently to them, walk around them slowly, give them their favourite treats, maybe try to get them interested in a toy.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
