What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy learning about the cats needs, what makes them happy, and what their unique personalities are like. Also caring for cats that are lap cats or cuddly.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have one beautiful and super sweet and vocal black cat named Athena. She is my whole entire world.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I am extremely patient with them. We all have our shy moment and experience anxiety at some point in time. I allow the cats to come to me on their own terms and on their own time. I will often go down to their level, either kneeling or sitting on the floor and allow them to smell my hand or my arm. I only pet them when I am given a sign that they are open to it. Sometimes I will try to give the cat a treat that they enjoy and try to build trust with them.

Luz was wonderful! This was our first time leaving our cat, Honeydew, with a sitter so Luz did a great job of walking us through the process and made sure we had all of our questions answered. Luz provided daily updates and left photos so we knew Honeydew was ok. I’d definitely recommend Luz and will be reaching out if we have sitting needs in the future!

C is an incredibly kind, caring, and thoughtful sitter for our fur babies. It's hard not to worry when you have to go out of town and leave your animals, but I do not worry when they are in the care of C. When they have questions or concerns, they make sure to communicate clearly and in a timely way. My cats are always well cared for and I always receive thorough updates and photos (which is most important!).

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Diego cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
