I adore cats and know how special they are! I have my own (Puck) who I strive to take care of in the best possible ways, to ensure both his physical health/longevity as well as his happiness. He's not the first cat I've had either but the 3rd in my life. And not only do I love cats and have experience with them as an owner, but I've also personally studied cat behavior and I am well-versed on what should and shouldn't be done, what dangers to watch out for, etc.; some people expect cats to just be like dogs and thus end up getting frustrated with them, but I understand cats to be a very separate and unique animal and they should be respected as such. How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

As a cat sitter, I prioritize the cats well-being as well as the home’s security while you’re away. I’d make sure to follow any specific feeding, medication, or care instructions provided by the owner. I’d keep hazardous items out of the cats’ reach and keep a watchful eye on them to ensure they’re comfortable and safe. I would clean the litter box and make sure there is nothing abnmornal there signaling something about their health. I would double check that the doors are securely locked and bring in any mail. In addition, I regularly check the home for any unusual signs or issues, such as power outages or leaks, and immediately inform the owner of anything concerning. This ensures peace of mind for both owner and the kitty companions.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I will be sure to be available during the holidays as I know that’s the time when pet sitting services are most needed. I will keep your babies safe & happy while you enjoy your holiday!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I would make sure that the environment is calm and quiet where the cat can feel safe. I’d approach the cat slowly, using soft tones, and I’d avoid direct eye contact. I’d make sure there’s a safe space for them - something cozy and hidden - and let them come to me on their own terms; if they did so, I’d use positive reinforcement with treats and gentle petting (if they show they’re comfort with petting). I would avoid sudden movements or loud noises. Overall, patience is key since building trust with a nervous cat can take time.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
