I have lived with cats my entire life, except for 4 years when living in college dorms. Even then I would volunteer at animal shelters, visit pet stor... I adore cats for their unique personalities! I will get to know your cat's quirks and work with them on their level. As a former vet assistant I am skilled at handling cats and administering medications (including subcutaneous fluids). I keep an animal first aid app on my phone for easy refetence.
I have lived with cats my entire life, except for 4 years when living in college dorms. Even then I would volunteer at animal shelters, visit pet stores with adoptable cats, and sneak visits with the maintenance person's kitty just to get my feline fix.
In my spare time I enjoy various arts and crafts, going to book stores, hiking, and, of course spending time with my kitties, Lilith and Lamia.
My personal covid/flu protocol: I am vaccinated and boosted. I often wear a mask in crowded indoor public spaces, and I wash my hands frequently. I will wear a mask to our meet & greet if requested.

I have two cats - a tuxetortico named Lilith, and a tabico named Lamia. I adopted Lamia when I noticed that Lilith was having separation anxiety after my last move. They have very distinct personalities and absolutely adore each other. 😻
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
One of the first things I do on arrival is securely close and lock the door behind me! And upon leaving, I lock the door and try the handle again to ensure it is latched and secure. I leave on any lights as requested, and can bring in mail and packages. I check for anything out of place - an open window, a plastic bag out in the open, sharp objects - and I will message the owner with photos to ask if something needs to be changed. I make note of where the cat's carrier is, who their vet is, and an emergency contact. What I don't do: - open any windows or doors that are closed, unless requested - leave out anything (bag of food, toys) that should be secured - answer the door or phone
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Everything needs to be on their terms! I will ask you during the meet&greet whether they have any usual safe spaces or hiding spots. I will usually say "hello" upon arriving, whether I can see the cat or not - I don't want my presence to be a surprise. If the cat hides the entire visit, I will look for them to ensure they are safe, talking gently as I go. As with every visit, I will document food and litterbox status to confirm their use. If the cat is timid but curious, I will usually just sit on the floor and talk to them, avoiding prolonged eye contact. I will let them sniff me, and will not try to touch them unless their body language indicates they are receptive to it. I will offer treats if appropriate 😸

Michelle did a fantastic job with our senior cat Henry while we were out of town, administering an IV of sub fluids and oral medication. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Santa Rosa cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $38.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
