What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting on Meowtel for over 3 years. I can travel around Benicia and Vallejo to cat sit.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love spending time with cats and providing a needed service. Playing with cats is a fun and relaxing activity that makes me happy!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite was when I got to cat-sit on a house boat! I also enjoy driving around town and exploring different areas around town that I may not have otherwise gotten to experience.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My cats are Lee and Honey. They were found in a parking lot at 3 weeks old and we took them in as fosters. We ended up adopting them and now they are over a year old :) I also have a precious senior dog.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
It’s helpful when cat parents leave written instructions. Otherwise, I’m happy to take notes in the app during the meet & greet. It is always appreciated when people make sure to order plenty of supplies ahead of time for long trips.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I use the app’s messaging feature to schedule a meet & greet and key hand-off. At the meet & greet, the cat parent can show me the location of the feeding area, litter box, and toys. While cat sitting, I will send you pictures of your cats and relevant things around the house, questions that may come up, and updates. Please let me know if you want me to bring in mail or trash bins, to water plants, etc and book visit times long enough to accommodate these tasks.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I prioritize cats’ feelings of safety and security by respecting their needs and recognizing signs of stress through body language. I am careful about opening doors to make sure no kitties can escape. I monitor and notify the pet parents of any issues with food/water intake, vomit, or diarrhea.

I am usually available during the holidays. Please take a look at my availability calendar for exact details and feel free to message me just in case.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I like getting my cats amped up with a laser pointer, then using a feather wand and tunnel tubes! Cat nip spray also makes playtime more fun.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
If a cat seems timid or stressed, I would give more space and more time to get used to my presence. Sometimes coaxing with a treat or distracting with a toy can be helpful.

Megan took care of my high-strung, bitey kitty while I was gone for the weekend. In a nutshell, the kitty was relaxed, calm, and happy to see me when I got back! Amazing! Megan was very organized; she took notes at the meet and greet and did everything I asked. Most importantly, she clearly has a way with cats. She had no problem giving kitty his twice a day medicine (tablet). She texted me many photos that really eased my mind, showing me how it was going. She took care of all the standard things perfectly (food, water, litter box, et al). I couldn't be happier, and would hire Megan again in a heartbeat.

Within five minutes of getting home from our trip, our cats asked us when Megan would be coming back. Megan has helped us out several times now and without prompting she remembers the details about what our cats like and need. She has been extremely helpful in getting our cats to be less shy around strangers, and always sends great photos! Megan is very professional and conscientious. She sent me pictures and even videos of her time with my cats and left my house exactly as she found it. She came the same time every day which I'm sure my cats appreciated. Megan is a special education teacher and used her skills to interact with my disabled kitties, one of which is blind. You will not find a better person to take care of your fur balls while you are away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Vallejo cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Megan took care of my bitey and sometimes very timid kitty for the weekend. When she came for the meet and greet, she knew just what to do to cause my kitty to come say hi. She is one of those people who has a way with cats. Megan took notes and asked questions, and did everything I asked of her. She sent me wonderful photo and video updates that helped me relax while I was gone. To my delight, my kitty was very relaxed and calm when I returned -- amazing! Since Megan came, he has become friendlier toward my visitors, which is astonishing. Thank-you, Megan!

Megan is great. I went to Europe and needed a last-minute arrangement for Cat Sitting for my four babies.
