What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Taking the time to get to know each cat’s personality and quirks is the best part of cat sitting! How do they like to play with their toys? What’s their favorite place to watch over their kingdom? Which flavor snack or meal is their favorite? Each one is so unique, and getting to know your cat’s unique personality will be so much fun!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat I’ve sat for is Humo. Humo is a wonderful cat, but he would give people small bites every so often when he was overstimulated. They wouldn’t pierce the skin, but they would hurt. The owners would only give verbal reprimands to stop this behavior. I took another approach. I would watch Humo’s tail continuously while petting him, and I would be sure to pause every so often to make sure he wanted me to keep going. Each time he nipped me, I spoke in kind tones and gave him space. He came to see that I respected his boundaries without getting loud or in his face. Over time, if he needed to tell me no, all he gave me was a gentle nudge with his teeth. Something he didn’t seem to do with others! What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to walk through the cat’s routine with the parent and make sure everything is written down for reference. This can include emergency contacts, dietary restrictions, daily needs, etc. Let’s make sure you and your cat all are on the same page and feel our best about me being their sitter!

She communicated daily, brought up appropriate questions, solved problems and made both my cat and I comfortable during this time apart. Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
