What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve had my own two cats for 12.5 years, caring for them since they were tiny kittens, which has given me years of hands-on experience with everything from playtime to special-needs care. I’ve also cat sat for friends and friends of friends occasionally for the last 5 years. I understand what it’s like to step into someone else’s cat’s routine and earn their trust.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What’s not to love about cats? They’re the bosses and we’re just here to serve. I love their big personalities, their sass, and the pure comedy of trying to win over a cat who pretends I don’t exist.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting experience was with two sweet and spunky girl kittens, each with their own quirks. They were unique, adorable, and honestly just a joy to be around. I enjoyed getting to know their personalities and giving them affection only when they decided it was allowed, cats always make the rules. But really it’s all of them!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I’ve had my cats since they were tiny kittens, so I speak fluent “cat.” Miki is my sweet tuxedo boy who supervises everything I do. I also recently lost my other cat, Maddox, after 12.5 amazing years - he taught me cats always run the house, no matter what the lease says. Eating salmon sashimi together was one of our fave activities. Maddox was a very in the moment kinda guy. Miki is a deep thinker scheming world domination.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Hire someone who truly gets cats. Someone who knows they’re part royalty, part toddler, and part roommate with strong opinions. Look for a sitter who can handle everything from zoomies to sulks, and who understands when a meow means “feed me” versus “I demand worship.” And always feel free to be detailed with instructions and direct with feedback. We’re here to give your cats the best care and make sure you feel completely at ease.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My goal is to make you feel completely comfortable and confident that your cat is in excellent hands while you’re away. If you love details, I’m very detail oriented and happy to take in as much information as you want to share. If you prefer to keep things simple, that’s totally fine too. I respect your style and will ask only what I need to know to follow your routine properly. During the meet and greet, I let your cat take the lead. I give them time to investigate me, sniff me, and decide how they feel about this new stranger (or future servant) in their home. I never force interaction and always respect boundaries. I care a lot. If something unexpected comes up, I take it seriously and will do everything in my power to figure it out and keep you informed.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Catnip bananas and wand toys are always a hit, especially feather toys. Automatic toys are fun too. But nothing beats the cardboard box they came in, because… cats.
