My old lady is over 18 and eats a special diet and takes arthritis medication, my rescue boy (11y) came to us with an injured eye and a broken heart. He has gone from handshy and ... I've been a cat lady for as long as I can remember. Every cat at a friend's house, strays in the neighborhood or on my college campus, any cat I come across, if I can pet them, I want to. I've sat outside on a curb without moving more times than I can count just trying to get a cat to trust me enough to come close.

He has gone from handshy and hiding under things to screaming good morning and giving me head bonks. He even lets me trim his nails and wipe his eye boogies away. We just brought home a new kitty (3y) in November and she has brought so much fun and life to our sleepy home.
All cats have their own version of love to share, you just have to give them space to feel comfortable. New people are stressful on any cat, no matter how friendly, and they need time and patience to feel like they can approach you in their own way ❤️

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love cat sitting largely because I just love cats. I love spending time with them, watching their little quirks, hearing all their little noises, I adore them. My goal is to someday own a disabled/senior cat rescue, and this is all experience in cat care and learning cat language, too!
What is your favorite cat toy?
I have not found a cat yet that can resist a good string toy! Though a laser pointer with a cat that will really chase one is a close second!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I grew up with a very timid cat, and have a fair amount of experience with timid/anxious cats. Speaking softly and slowly, not making too intense of eye contact, moving very slowly and staying low are all very important. Cats are smart and are not needlessly aggressive- if you follow their cues and their pace, they will understand you don't mean them harm. Tail flicks, vocalizations, body posture, all of these tell you how to deal with the cat if you are listening to them. The absolute most important thing is patience. Cat people know that cats hurry for no one, no matter their personality!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Colorado Springs cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
