Cat Sitting in Colorado Springs, CO

Hi, I’m Kristie!

I’ve had cats pretty much my entire life, and since recently moving out to Colorado Springs, I’m really looking forward to getting involved in the local pet community and helping fellow cat parents feel completely at ease while they’re away.

A big part of why I love pet sitting comes from caring for my own two seniors, who both passed away recently after long, wonderful lives. My sweet girl, Luna, had stage 4 kidney disease, so our daily routine included multiple oral pills, transdermal meds, and subcutaneous fluids. My boy, Apollo, was diabetic, which meant regular ear pricks for glucose testing and careful insulin injections twice a day. Managing their health taught me so much patience and gave me years of hands-on, practical experience with high-maintenance routines and chronic conditions...

Managing their health taught me so much patience and gave me years of hands-on, practical experience with high-maintenance routines and chronic conditions. Beyond my own two, I’ve also sat for other diabetic and medicated kitties, and spent years doing evening medication rounds as a shelter volunteer.

I know how nerve-wracking it is to hand off a cat’s care to someone new—especially if your cat is shy, nervous, or relies on an exact medical schedule. My goal is always to make my visits as quiet, predictable, and low-stress as possible:

Following your exact routine for food, water, and litter

Confidently handling medications (oral, transdermal, sub-Q fluids, or insulin)

Letting your cat call the shots—whether they want someone to play with, gentle lap cuddles, or just quiet company from across the room

Sending you detailed updates and plenty of photos so you never have to wonder how they're doing
Whether your cat just needs a reliable buddy while you travel or has a routine that requires an experienced set of hands, I’d love to help out.

Feel free to send me a message with any questions or to check dates and availability!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I love most about cat sitting is getting to meet new cats and help them feel comfortable and cared for while their people are away. It’s so rewarding to see a shy cat start to relax or greet me at the door. I also love knowing I can help owners feel at ease — because I understand these aren’t just pets, they’re family.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I had two senior kitties — Luna, who was 15, and Apollo, who was 16. Both had special medical needs: Apollo was a diabetic, and Luna had stage 4 kidney disease along with hyperthyroidism. I adopted them together from the SPCA when they were just a year old and I was 19. They had been with me through every stage of adulthood and truly were like my children. Caring for them had taught me patience, compassion, and just how special every cat really is.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I’m available for most holidays! I work in a hospital and typically only have to take call on two holidays each year. On those specific holidays I wouldn’t be available, but for all other holidays I’m off and happy to spend them caring for your kitties

Kristie followed all instructions and even cleaned up after one cat made a mess. If she wasn't moving I'd definitely have her cat sit again.

Kristie is a responsible pet owner who goes above and beyond to make sure her cats are comfortable, sacrificing her own sleep at times. She is very clear and consistent communicator and I felt at ease leaving my own kitty with her. I felt like I could truly relax on my vacation knowing she was there for my cat Chloe. She is very knowledgeable about cats in general and I always go to her for advice. Her combined caring nature, passion and experience with her own animals makes her a top notch choice as a cat sitter!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Colorado Springs cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
