Cat Sitting in Colorado Springs, CO

Hello! I have 2 cats of my own and have raised them for over 10 years. They’re my whole life!

Being a cat caretaker for all that time, I know the ins and outs of cat behavior. I know the specific signs of my cats, but I also know, from experience with other kitties, universal signs.

I have a good sense of when a cat is nervous or needs to be left alone, as well as a good sense for when they are content and happy and want some snuggles!

When I do a cat visit, I will always very carefully open the door and focus on the opening, making sure we don’t have a door dasher in our midst. When I make it inside, if the kitty is sociable and comes up to me, I will let them rub against me, and I will gently move my hand down and let them sniff it. This typically concludes with them rubbing their face into my hand.

If the kitty is not the most sociable, I will call quietly for them and see if they respond...

If the kitty is not the most sociable, I will call quietly for them and see if they respond. If I don’t hear a response, I will perform the necessary duties, like cleaning up the kitty restroom, refreshing water dishes, filling the food bowls, etc. I will always be very quiet and not walk too fast, just to make sure I alleviate as much worry from the kitties as I can. If they are hiding but I can still see them, I will maybe get on my knees and say “oh hello” with a smile. And I will talk to them about why I’m there. I will encourage them to come out with words but I won’t push forward, so as not to frighten them.

If the kitty is a total no-show, I will carefully look around the house and make sure they didn’t get themselves stuck in a closet or something else.

I’m a lover of movies, and if the kitty is comfortable around me, I will talk their whiskers off about movies! If they seem to be the nervous type, I will be a little more quiet, so I don’t overstimulate their senses. I know how overwhelming noise and voices can be when you’re in an unfamiliar situation, so I lend that courtesy to the kitties.

I have been taking care of cats professionally for about 3 years, and my clients are consistently very happy with how I have taken care of their kitties. I also send lots of pictures that are taken with care and thought, not just a single blurry photo to fill a requirement.

Learn More About Paul

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

My favorite part about cat sitting is figuring out every cat’s personality. They are all so unique! I also just get along really well with kitties.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I took care of 2 kitties, 2 brothers. One of them was very sociable, the other one was much more timid at first. But after a couple visits, the timid one started opening up a lot more to me, and he was playing along with his brother. And it was just really satisfying to feel that trust growing, and see how that trust helped open him up. My favorite clients to this day!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do! One is named Espy, and that’s short for Espérance, or “hope” in French. She’s also know as the Honey Bun with the Bunny Bum. My other kitty is named Ishmael, and he is named after the narrator to my favorite book. He is also known as the Goosey Moose with the Floofy Caboose!

Paul took care of our 2 kitties over a long weekend. He was very reliable and provided excellent communication with lots of photos. He bonded with our normally very skittish male cat. He even drove back to our house to ensure a large package was secured inside. You can really tell he loves and cares about cats.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Colorado Springs cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
