Especially my kitty, Pineapple, of course. Part Maine Coon and part Tabby, he is smart, adventurous and loving. Just like me! I would love to protect and take care of your cat(s).
My cats have taught me how they like to play, how to be affectionate and then back-off when they've had too much. I have had a cat all my life and that will always be the case. Pineapple even fetches and sits! I don't expect to teach your cat how to sit, but I do have patience and appreciate every feline is different.
My background is architecture. I studied it at CU, then practiced here in Denver. Then we raised our family. Our kids are young adults and off thriving in their worlds while I like to waterski, play tennis and paint. Then, of course, come home and hug Pineapple. I have a good amount of free time which makes a perfect recipe for being able to go and enjoy visiting with your cat(s). Pineapple and I are both fully vaccinated.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I call it my happy place! Cats don't try to impress people; they are themselves. I enjoy playing with them the most. When a cat is playing; she is truly happy. Also, when a cat allows me to pet her, I'm honored she trusts me.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Every cat sitting reservation is different and I love all the cats. One that stands out in particular, however, is a wonderful little she cat nearby. She is curious and playful. It took a couple visits for her to warm up to me because she was quite timid. Once she did, we became very good friends. She let me pet her, and whether I was in the kitchen preparing her food or the bathroom cleaning her litter, she was always with me. Now she greets me at the door when I enter, and walks with me to the door when I leave.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do have one cat at home. His name is Pineapple and he is part Maine Coon; part Tabby. He knows how to sit and fetch. Pineapple is eleven years old, but extremely playful. We have played with him all his life, so now he pesters us when he feels like playing. I can't imagine my life without him.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would suggest to find the best match for your cat. Being in the business, we all love cats, but we may have different styles.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My typical process for working with a new cat parent is to listen. They will tell you everything that is important to them and their cat. It is most important to follow those directions exactly as stated. I don't assume anything, I ask as many questions as necessary to make sure I will be doing everything correctly and caring for their cat(s) just as they wish.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
The same way I protect my own cat. I am extremely careful when entering and exiting the home so that the cat doesn't dart out. When I play with a cat, I make sure he is not in danger of getting hurt in any way. Making him jump to high for a feather wand or a laser, for example.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, we spend most holidays in town because we have a lot of family here.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love the feather at the end of a wand. Many cats are the most interested in that one as well because it's interactive and something to chase. I also like it because it makes the cat tired so she sleeps in-between visits. That may get her mind off of being bored or lonely while her parents are traveling.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give timid or anxious cats their space. I might just sit on the floor in the same room and quietly talk to him; using his name a lot. Maybe I'll bring one of his toys into the situation, but I'll never follow a cat around trying to play or pet him if he doesn't feel comfortable. I've never had a cat not warm up even if it took a couple of visits.

Valerie was amazing! My cat can be a little difficult to deal with. He is vocal but does not always love new people. Valerie was so understanding of this and worked with Vinny to make him feel comfortable. She understand that he could be difficult and she did not rush/force Vinny into an uncomfortable situation. Vinny warmed up to her after a couple days and she was able to play with him every time she was there. Valerie also sent amazing pictures and updates. I will absolutely book her again in the future and I am so thankful that she was able to be here for my little guy Vinny!

Followed my admittedly complicated entrance to my apt and was able to get a very shy cat to come out and play on the first day. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Denver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

This was my second time having Valerie sit my two cats and she was absolutely amazing. she made sure to play with both cats tiring out the kitten so he wasn’t destructive around the house and took amazing care of my boys with plenty of pictures and videos. Valerie is incredible and I feel 100% safe whenever I leave for a trip. She has been wonderful and I fully trust her with watching over my little guy and my home. My little guy can be a bit of a brat and is very vocal. He believes he is the king of the world and can be rude to new guests. But Valerie takes the time to play with him and get him to feel comfortable around her. She has made this experience a million times better for not only me but for my little guy Vinny too! Valerie is amazing!! I went out of town for thanksgiving for an extended period of time. This was the longest I’ve ever been away from my cat (Vinny). I got him during COVID and I work from home so he is used to me being around 24/7. Valerie was incredible and sent amazing updates, played with him daily, and really helped him feel safe/loved. I trust Valerie 100% and would recommend her for anyone in the Denver area. On top of this, my cat can be rude sometimes and is very vocal but Valerie did an amazing job to make sure Vinny felt comfortable. She is a lovely person, caring, and the best cat buddy one could ever dream of to care for one’s little fireball while away.
