What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been helping neighbors to care for their kitties since I was a kid. Since then, I have fostered with the MaxFund and have worked with hospice, shy, adult, and kitten fosters. Now, we have two kitties we've adopted, so we've slowed down on fostering.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I really value Meowtel for when we go out of town because it means so much to know our furry friends are in such good hands while we're away. I want to provide that same service to others. I also just really enjoy taking care of kitties-they are so cool!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting experience so far (I just started with Meowtel, so this was sitting for a neighbor) was when I woke up to one fur friend next to me, another on the other side, and one on my head. Adorable!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Annie is 10 and Toby is 8. They are the loves of my life, so I understand if you feel the same way about yours!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I think there are a lot of options out there, and if you don't feel comfortable with someone, find someone else who you feel great about.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to call and have a conversation first and then set up a time to do a meet-and-greet where we can hash out all of the details and just make sure that it's a good fit. From there, I would want to be very responsive and communicate with a new cat parent so they know all is well and they can relax while they are away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I think the most important thing is to follow everything that is spelled out in our Meet and Greet including any specific rules or specifications the cat parents have shared. I will take my shoes off if it's a shoes-off home, and I will leave things better than I found them. I will let the cat parents know if there's anything with kitties or home that seem out of place so they can help instruct me on what to do from there.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I often am! Because my family all live here and I'm from this part of the world, I often am around during the times people like to travel.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Some kitties don't love this, but a lot of them seem to really enjoy the sparkle wands or feather wands. My kitty Toby is a shy guy, so he will only play with a shoelace. But hey, whatever works!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have a soft spot in my heart for the shy/anxious ones. I think it's a matter of being patient and gentle and just giving them space but also speaking in a calm, friendly voice so they get the sense I'm there to help and not hurt them.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
