Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Onyx, our black male cat is 5 years old and a true black cat: spastic, loving, and gets into mischief! No plants are safe around him! Coco, our fluffy gray female is 7 years old and is our ‘sassy patch’- she’s sweet & sour! She will lick all of the feathers and fuzzy textures! Both are great cuddlers and of course, big treat fans!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

As a trained early childhood teacher, safety has always been my number one priority. I will never share or give access to anyone’s location/address/personal information; I ensure to keep the home as I found it- locked , clean, secure; I do not bring anyone with me for privacy concerns; I follow instructions well; ultimately, I would call 911 in the event of an emergency. For longer visits/jobs, I try to obtain an emergency contact in case something happens.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Since I’ve grown up with cats, we’ve had several over the years that had various temperaments. Our current cat, Coco, has half an eye, which causes her a lot of distress with new people/being caught off guard. One of the ways I help kitties feel safe, is by taking my time and letting them approach me. I will always chatter away, and give kissy eyes and call them over, but I would NEVER force snuggles/pets on any animal, let alone our anxious friends. Keeping my own energy calm (and sometimes treats) are a big plus in this situation.

When Erin first met my cat, Mr. Sneaky Buttons, he was still very cautious and semi-feral in behavior. He tends to take a long time to warm up to new environments and people, even if he has met them before. Erin approached him with remarkable patience and calm, allowing him to come to her on his own terms rather than forcing interaction. She spoke in a gentle voice, kept her movements slow, and made sure he had safe spaces to retreat to. Over the course of her visits, she respected his boundaries while consistently offering kindness and care. Eventually, he began to greet her and even sit near her, showing that her steady, empathetic approach helped him feel secure outside of his typical environment.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
