I started pet sitting when I was a kid, watching my neighbors’ cat Mortimer when they traveled several times a year. I was a sitter for both dogs and cats during and after college on a freelance basis, and then I joined Meowtel some years later.

I believe that cats are the best animals on Earth. They are fun, affectionate, independent, and so unique! They always have something to offer and will respect you if you respect them first.
I also believe that in-home cat sitting is far superior to pet boarding while you’re away, since your babies can stay in their safe place with all of their objects and smells, awaiting your return from the comfort of their own home.
I listen to feline body language and adjust my behavior accordingly to help your cats feel safe around me. I understand that some cats have clear boundaries, while others have almost none at all! I love getting to know new feline friends and earning the headbutt of approval, if only for a short time.
I am experienced with special needs pets, including administering medications like eye and ear drops, topical ointments, subcutaneous injections including insulin, and oral pills. I can easily learn any procedure your kitty needs if it's not listed here.
I follow instructions to the letter and provide many photos, videos, and written updates while you’re away so you always know that your kitty is in loving hands!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
A new cat parent can reach out to me via message anytime. I am always happy to answer questions and I will respond as soon as possible. We can then arrange a complimentary Meet & Greet, and if all goes well, I ask for detailed written instructions either printed in the home or in a Meowtel message, even if you show me where everything is. During your reservation, you'll receive lots of pictures, videos, and updates. I make it as smooth and easy as possible so you don't have to stress or worry!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I never leave doors or windows open, and if I have to exit the home and then reenter, I always bring the keys with me. I make sure that I can locate the cat at each visit, even if they don't want to interact, and I do not change any part of their routine. I never bring additional people into the home, and I make sure I have vet information from the owner before their reservation arrives. Safety is of utmost importance, and if I am unclear on anything, I will ask.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I stay quiet but present. I follow all of the instructions for their care, and make no sudden movements or loud noises. I locate the cat to make sure that they're safe, and then hang out in an area near them so they can choose to come to me if they want to. If they don't, that's okay too. Their safety and comfort are my top priorities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Branford cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $36.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
