I have lived with cats my entire life and deeply understand their unique "love languages." Through my academic studies and years of experience as a barn hand, I have developed a keen sense for reading animal body language and responding to the needs of even the most sensitive or anxious pets.

I am also happy to assist with routine hygiene like clipping claws and brushing teeth. Because I am comfortable reading animal behavior, I am also happy to help with households that require keeping animals separated, managing rotation schedules, or facilitating gradual introductions.
Currently, I balance my time working at a wellness spa and preparing for my Master of Public Administration at UConn Hartford this fall. My philosophy is rooted in intuition and patience. I always let a cat set the pace for our interactions so they feel safe and respected in their own home. I am just as happy engaging in high-energy playtime as I am sitting quietly with a book to provide a comforting presence for a shy sleeper. What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love the 'breakthrough' moments. There is nothing more rewarding than the first time a shy cat decides to come out from under the bed or when a high-energy kitten finally tucks in for a nap nearby. Because I understand that every cat has a unique personality and 'love language,' I truly enjoy the process of getting to know them on their own terms. Providing peace of mind to owners while bonding with their feline family members is incredibly fulfilling for me.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Clear communication is my priority. I start with a detailed meet-and-greet to learn your cat’s specific routine, hiding spots, and 'no-go' zones. I ask about their favorite toys, any subtle signs of stress to watch for, and your preferred emergency protocol. During the booking, I provide consistent updates and photos after every visit so you never have to wonder how things are going. I treat your home and your pet with the same level of mindfulness and respect I’d want for my own.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
This is where my background in psychology and yoga really comes into play. I practice 'passive interaction,' which means I enter the space and stay grounded and low to the ground, allowing the cat to approach me first. I avoid direct eye contact initially and use a soft, steady voice. By reading their subtle body language like ear position and tail flickers, I am careful to never overstep their boundaries. My goal is to be a calming presence that makes them feel safe, not pressured.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Fairfield cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
