What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I like cat sitting because cats bond to their homes (dogs bond to their people). Allowing cats to remain in thier own home reduces stress for them. I like to meet new kitties & their humans. If your kitty is friendly & wants to play or snuggle a little, that's great. If your kitty is shy (like mine), and just wants clean letterbox & food, that's fine too.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have bottle-raised kittens, and seen them through their senior years & hospice care, I currently have one cat. Zina is 10 years old, & has been with me since she was 8. Zina loves to watch birds at the bird feeder in the kitchen window, & napping in the sun.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I jokingly call myself an indoor cat; because, like cats, I like the comfort of being home. I don't usually go anywhere for holidays, or weekends, & am usually available for cat sitting.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Zina's favorite toy is a felt-covered hard catnip ball. I often hear her drag it around all hours of the day or night. She'll chase a laser pointer or the reflection from my watch or phone sometimes too.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For timid or anxious cats, I find that being quiet and not trying to be too friendly too soon is best. To them, I'm a big scary stranger in their safe place, & their humans aren't there. I'll talk quietly or sometimes sing little songs while I'm at a visit. I'll make sure they have fresh water, food, & scoop litter boxes first. If I haven't seen them by then, I'll peek in their favorite hiding spots & make sure I have a visual to make sure they're okay. Maybe they're curious enough to want to play, & I'll bring out a favorite toy. If they want nothing to do with me, I respect that.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
