Throughout college, I pet sat for friends, neighbors, and family, and I’m comfortable caring for other animals as well. Cats have always had a special place in my heart, though, and being around them has always come naturally to me... Hi! I’m Emma, and I’ve been around cats my entire life. I grew up with cats, have had three family cats over the years, and now have my own cat, Steve. I know every cat has a different personality, and I love taking the time to earn their trust and make them feel comfortable while their family is away.
Throughout college, I pet sat for friends, neighbors, and family, and I’m comfortable caring for other animals as well. Cats have always had a special place in my heart, though, and being around them has always come naturally to me. I love getting to know each cat’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for.
During every visit, I’ll make sure your cat has fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and plenty of attention based on what they enjoy, whether that’s playing, brushing, cuddling, or simply having a calm person to keep them company. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your cat is doing well.
I know how important it is to trust someone with both your pet and your home. I’ll care for them the same way I care for Steve, with patience, attention, and lots of love.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been around cats my entire life. I grew up with cats, have had three family cats over the years, and now have my own cat, Steve. Throughout college, I was hired by several families to pet sit while they traveled, including caring for pets during extended summer vacations. Today, I still pet sit for friends whenever they’re out of town. Over the years, I’ve cared for cats with all kinds of personalities, and I love taking the time to get to know each one and help them feel comfortable while their family is away.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I have a cat named Steve, and he’s the best. Living with him has taught me so much about cat behavior and how every cat has their own unique personality. Some cats want lots of attention, while others are happiest doing their own thing. I love getting to know what makes each cat feel safe, comfortable, and happy, and I always try to care for them in a way that fits their personality.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My own cat, Steve, is anxious around new people, so I understand firsthand that every cat responds differently to unfamiliar faces. Because of that, I never force interaction or expect a cat to warm up right away. I let them set the pace, stick to their normal routine, and give them the space they need to feel safe. Sometimes that means playing if they’re interested, and other times it means quietly keeping them company while they get used to me. My goal is to make every cat feel as comfortable and secure as possible while their family is away.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Stamford cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $37.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
