What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have only done pet sitting for friends, and never professionally. After trying to get a sitter for our last vacation, I realized that I'm more qualified than the people I found and this is what I should be doing more of.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love that every cat is so different. Their quirks and personalities make them fun to get to know and it's an honor when they like you back.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Recently I met the most agreeable young cat I've ever known. He wasn't scared or uncomfortable with anyone or any situation that I saw. Total confidence, curiousity, and affection. It was surprising and nice to have all the cuddles roght from the first meeting.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Stewie, Kami, Scooter, and Mango are my 4 cats. We only meant to have one, but 3 were foster fails.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Definitely check references and do a meet and greet with the pets in the home. Make sure they leave clear instructions on where to find everything for their pets care.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I get as much detail in writing as I can on their cat's normal routine for their care, so we can discuss the best options to make a low stress transition for them to be in my care.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am very careful at all times about not opening or closing doors or windows without being prepared for a cat to dart through.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I'm used to working in customer service jobs that require availability on holidays, weekends, amd evenings. My kids are grown and my husband is available to care for our cats if I get busy working.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love watching them run through the spring tunnels and jump around together with play attacks. Even my paralyzed cat has fun with it.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Move slowly, speak softly, start with light chin scratches and add more pets and touching as they allow it. Lickables or churros are always a win if the pet parents allow it.

Kim is an exceptional cat sitter. A true "cat whisperer". She lovingly cared for our fur babies, Kramer and Georgie Girl, for 10 days. We were concerned because our Georgie Girl requires daily oral liquid medication. Kim handled it with no problem. We would hire again in a heartbeat. We highly recommend her.

I couldn’t be happier with our Meowtel experience. Our one cat Dewey needs an eye drop twice a day. I was able to find a sitter with that needed experience. Kim did a great job in taking care of our two cats while we were away for the weekend! Even though Dewey tried hiding from her on the first visit, Kim had some tricks up her sleeve to get him to come out and get the eye drop in. She sent updates and photos from each visit, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away.

Kim did a fantastic job. My kitties just adore her. I was home on the last day she came and Vinny and Reetie must know the sound of her car because the went running to the door to greet her before she rang the bell. They never do that for anyone. She spent so much personal time with them. She made it a point to come every day at the same time to spend time with them. I love my fur babies and she does too. I am planning on another trip soon and I hope she will be available then as well. She definitely went above and beyond. tytyty!!!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cape Coral cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
