Cat Sitting in Daytona Beach, FL

Hello! My name is Susan, and I would love to have the pleasure of looking after your kitty friend while you are away! I treat every cat like they are my own, and I treat every cat owner like they love their cat as much as I love mine. I understand that some kitties are terrified leaving the comfort of their space and routine, and agree that it is sometimes better to bring in a knowledgeable sitter to care for them while their owner is away.

I have worked in the veterinary field since 2019, graduated from Columbus State Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for the state of Ohio in 2020, then moved to Florida in 2023...

I have worked in the veterinary field since 2019, graduated from Columbus State Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for the state of Ohio in 2020, then moved to Florida in 2023. I specialized in feline care for over 5 years, and also have experience in veterinary emergency and critical care. I am Fear Free Certified, as well as a certified Cat Friendly Veterinary Profressional through the Feline Veterinary Medical Association. As such, I have been professionally trained for the care, restraint, and medicating of all cats - from kittenhood to geriatric.

Prior to booking me, please ensure your profile for your kitties is filled out so I may have all of their information on hand and be familiar with expectations from the beginning (especially for dietary restrictions or medications!). I'd also like to stress the importance of filling out your Veterinary Release Form - you never know when an emergency may happen! Thank you so much for taking the time to consider me for your needs, and I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby soon!

Learn More About Susan

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

From my experience working at the vet clinic, many kitties exhibit fear and stress since being brought outside their home can be quite scary to them! I love cat sitting as it makes me happy to be able to see that cat in their own home where they are happiest and most confident.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I am happily the servant of 2 senior kitties at home, Mocha and Willow. They are my children and you cannot convince me otherwise!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have extensive experience handling anxious kitties - going slow, talking using a soft, quiet voice to get them used to me, and keeping my distance until they seem more confident are all tactics I take to make a kitty feel more at ease. I can try to buy their love with treats, as well, but I find just taking my time and going at their pace goes a long way.

My Dad has a diabetic cat, and it's unable to give her the necessary insulin shots. Susan meet with us, listened to our concerns, and took excellent care of Dad's cat while I was not able to. Dad was very happy with her support for his cat, even if his cat wasn't. Susan also sent me messages about how things were going after every visit. When Dad had a concern for his cat's health, Susan helped her the care needed to resolve the issue. Next time I need this kind of help, I WILL MOST CERTAINLY call upon Susan again!

Susan is a dream come true! I’ve never had a cat sitter before and I was especially anxious for my upcoming trip because my cat recently started daily medication. Susan’s veterinary experience and kind demeanor immediately put me at ease with the entire process. My cat still wouldn’t let her get too close while I was gone, but Susan was still able to safely give my cat her meds via a towel kitty-burrito. :) I received daily updates, pictures, and videos as well! She took care of my beloved senior cat as if she was her own and really went above and beyond.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Daytona Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
