I currently a Cat Mom to 3 (crazy!) sweethearts, all rescues....2 adults and 1 senior kitty (ages 4, 4 & 16). At one point we had a total of 6 cats and 1 dog, so lots of different personalities! I hope to grow my family in the near future to add several more rescue fur babies/kitties. In addition to caring for my own cats over the last 26 years, I also care for the cats of my friends, neighbors and family. They rely on me to scoop the litter boxes, play with their fur babies, give playtime, TLC and mandatory head scratches, feed, give fresh water & dry food, and give medication to them while they were out of town.
I love all animals and have volunteered with various no-kill SPCAs across the country... Friendly and Responsible Cat Mom!

In my full time job, I work in the Biotechnology industry, as a project manager in Research and Development. I live in Deland, FL, am a non-smoker, and I have reliable vehicles.
For weekdays in Deland, Orange City, Debary, Deltona and other close areas, I am available mornings (6-8 am), lunchtimes and/or anytime after 5 pm. I am also available anytime on the weekends. For other areas, including, but not limited to Port Orange, NSB, Edgewater and Daytona, I am available early mornings (between 5 am to 6 am) or after 5 pm and anytime on the weekends.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been a Cat Mom for 26 years, and have done cat sitting on and off since 2012. I have provided cat sitting services on Meowtel for 2 years. I have also cat sitted for friends, family and neighbors. I have also volunteered at various No-Kill Shelters and SPCAs.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have 3 rescue kitties, ages adult to senior kitty. They are my best friends and I adore them all! Their names are Daisy Mia (age 16 years), Rocket (age 4 years) and Groot (age 4 years). I hope to rescue more fur babies in the future.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
The main traits that I look for when hiring a pet sitter are: reliable, responsible and easy to communicate with. Having a reliable and responsible cat sitter is an absolute MUST! I want them to care for my kitties as if they were their own. Personally I also like to receive daily photos and texts so that I can see that they are doing ok! These traits are the bare minimum and are traits that I offer as a Cat Sitter.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I take the time to go through each room of the home to make sure everything is safe and secure. I locate each fur baby (looking in any hiding spots) to make sure they are all doing OK and accounted for.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available during almost all of the holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, Labor Day etc. I please ask for advance notice (as much as possible) so that I can make sure I’ll be available to care for your baby!
What is your favorite cat toy?
My kitties love to have their toys sprayed with catnip! They also like interactive toys. I try to provide a variety for them. They go crazy for the catnip spray!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For kitties that are timid and anxious, I go very slow with them. I use a soft tone in my voice and try to create a warm environment for them to approach me at their comfort level.

We are very happy with Jodie and how she took care of our cats. We have 7 cats and she made sure to take a picture of every one of them. Our youngest, Cynder, was hiding and Jodie took the time to look under beds, chairs, etc. to find her to make sure she was safe. She send us pictures and detailed messages via texts and a nice note and checklist when we got home. We will definitely be reaching out to Jodie again the next time we take a trip.

Jodie was absolutely spectacular; I’ve never felt so comfortable leaving my kitty, Zara, while traveling. :) Jodie clearly adores cats and understands them! From the moment she took out a notepad during the meet and greet to take diligent notes, I knew she was going to be reliable. She went above and beyond to communicate with me and asked me questions about details that pleasantly surprised me! If you relatively closer to Deland, I am available anytime (weekdays and weekends). For other areas (NSB, Port Orange, Daytona etc), I am available early mornings (5-6 am) and after 5-6 pm, plus anytime on the weekends.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Deland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
