What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Iāve been caring for cats for many years, both personally and for friends and family. Cats have been a constant presence in my life, from energetic kittens to shy seniors and independent personalities. I currently share my home with my cat, Bea Arthur, who continues to teach me patience, communication, and the importance of respecting a catās boundaries. My experience has shown me that every cat is different, and successful care comes from observation, consistency, and calm energy. Iām comfortable maintaining feeding routines, litter care, medication instructions when needed, and adapting to each catās personality and comfort level.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I start by learning as much as possible about your catās routine, personality, preferences, and any special needs. Consistency is important to cats, so I aim to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible. During visits, I prioritize essentials first ā fresh water, feeding, litter care, and a quick safety check of the home ā then spend time interacting in a way that matches your catās comfort level, whether thatās playtime, conversation, or simply a calm presence nearby. Youāll receive thoughtful updates and photos so you always know how your cat is doing. My goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both you and your cat.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I approach timid or anxious cats with patience and respect, allowing them to set the pace of interaction. I avoid forcing contact and instead focus on creating a calm, predictable environment so they can feel safe. Sometimes that means sitting quietly in the room, speaking softly, or simply being present until they feel comfortable enough to approach. I pay close attention to body language and subtle cues so I can respond appropriately. Many shy cats warm up when they realize their boundaries are respected, and Iām happy to move at whatever pace helps them feel secure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
