What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for a span over 20 years. I’ve also volunteered at cat shelters and fostered kittens. I’ve had cats all my life. I’ve take care of kittens to seniors who have special needs. I understand the care and patience it takes to made cats feel safe.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I’m an animal lover so providing care brings me joy. I travel myself and understand how important it is to have someone care for your pet.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I had a house with 3 mancoons to take care of and their love and affection is so sweet. Each had a different personality. I had to take specific care of their beautiful fur and special diet.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have four cats ranging in ages. I always adopt and rescue. My oldest lived to be 22 years old.

Chini was absolutely fantastic. This was the first time I had to leave my 7mo old kitten and I was so nervous as he always hides when guests come by. The first day Chini arrived she was able to make him feel comfortable enough to not only come out of hiding, but also to play! The daily updates and photos allowed me to relax, knowing my little guy was taken care of! I highly recommend Chini!

From the moment I met Chini I knew my kitties were in good hands. Sure enough, she was very reliable and communicated daily with updates and photos. My kitties were well taken care of and happy. I will definitely use Chini in the future. 😺😺

Chini has taken care of my cat Leo multiple times through in-home stays and drop-in visits, and I can’t recommend her enough. The longest stay was a full week overnight, and she took incredible care of him the entire time. She made sure Leo was fed, his litter box was clean, and spent time playing with him and brushing him so he stayed happy and comfortable. Leo can be shy at first and is a bit of a codependent lap cat once he warms up, so routine and patience are really important for him. Chini was amazing at keeping him on his normal schedule so he wouldn’t feel out of sorts, and he ended up warming up to her very quickly, even sleeping with her at night! She also sent lots of photos and videos while I was away, which made me feel so reassured. One of the sweetest things she did was bring Leo treats, toys, and even a bowtie collar she thought he would like because he’s a tuxedo cat. It was clear she treated him like he was her own. When I got home, Leo was relaxed and happy, he barely seemed to notice I had been gone because she took such great care of him. I would absolutely book Chini again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable, and genuinely caring cat sitter.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Fort Lauderdale cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
