I have 10+ years of experience caring for animals, including my own pets and professional experience in pet care settings. I truly understand cats as unique personalities with their own routines, boundaries, and moods. Iāve cared for many cats throughout my life, most recently three, so Iām comfortable with playful kittens, independent adults, and shy or sensitive cats. I know cat care is more than feeding and scooping. I pay attention to litter box habits, appetite, body language, hiding patterns, and behavior changes because cats often communicate quietly. Iām also comfortable keeping litter boxes clean, refreshing water, following feeding routines, and giving cats affection or space on their terms. What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
For new cat parents, Iām happy to do a meet-and-greet so your cat can get familiar with me and you can share any details about their care. During visits, I follow your instructions closely, keep food and water refreshed, clean the litter box, and pay attention to any changes in behavior, appetite, or energy. I also send updates so you know how your cat is doing while youāre away. My goal is to keep their routine calm, consistent, and stress-free.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I handle timid or anxious cats with patience, calm energy, and respect for their boundaries. I never force interaction or rush them to warm up. Instead, I give them space, move slowly, speak gently, and let them approach me when they feel ready. I pay close attention to body language, hiding spots, appetite, and litter box habits so I can make sure theyāre comfortable and not overly stressed. For shy cats, I focus on keeping their routine consistent, refreshing food and water, cleaning the litter box, and creating a quiet, safe environment. Whether they want attention or prefer to observe from a distance, I meet them where they are and care for them at their pace.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
