What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have over 10 years of experience caring for cats. My background includes housesitting and pet sitting for family and friends, as well as taking in, rehabilitating, and caring for stray cats that I find. I am very thorough with all aspects of care as I treat your kitties like my own. Over the years, I have managed everything from bottle-feeding fragile 3-4 week old kittens to managing routines for adult cats. This hands-on experience has taught me how to read cat body language, handle different temperaments, manage feeding schedules, and give patient care to shy or nervous kitties.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Once a new cat parent confirms a booking on the platform, I coordinate a complimentary in-person Meet & Greet at their home. My main focus during this meeting is to speak directly with the parent to fully understand their needs and their cat's exact routine. At the same time, I use this visit to introduce myself to the cat calmly, seeing how they react to me and making sure they feel completely safe and comfortable in my presence. Once the booking begins, I follow the parent's instructions perfectly, treat the cats like my own, and always send text and photo updates so the parents have peace of mind and know their kitties are in good hands.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When handling an timid cat, I never force an interaction and let them come to me at their own pace. In caring for stray cats, I have learned the importance of speaking in soft tones, and keeping my body language small and non-threatening. If they choose to hide, I respect their space while still performing a thorough check to make sure they are safe, healthy, and breathing. Instead of trying to pull them out, I sit quietly nearby so they can get used to my scent and presence. I focus on keeping their environment quiet, stress-free, and exactly aligned with the routine their parent requested.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
