What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting on and off for close friends for the last couple of years—for both special needs cats and non-special needs cats. I have also volunteered at animal shelters in the past.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

The thing I enjoy most about cat sitting is spending time with the cats!!! I love meeting your babies and making sure they get the best care possible while their favorite human is away!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have six cats! Porsche, Nebi, Mori, Tommy, Twix, and KitKat. Porsche, Nebi, and Mori, were a group of bonded cats I refused to split up. Tommy is a big mama’s boy and attached at my hip. Recently, I got Twix and KitKat. They are a pair of bonded timid boys that came with a lot of health issues. After a lot of love, patience, and kindness, they are finally starting to come out of their shell and show their personality.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new cat parent, I start by learning as much as possible about their cat’s personality, routines, and preferences. I ask detailed questions about feeding schedules, favorite toys, medical needs, and any quirks or triggers. Before the first sit, I like to schedule a quick meet-and-greet to ensure the cat feels comfortable and to go over expectations. My goal is to make both the cat and the owner feel completely at ease while I care for their furry family member. I also send a check in text at each visit that includes a short update and pictures of your fur babies.

Are you usually available during holidays?

For the most part I have open availability for most holidays and do not anticipate that changing any time soon. Shoot me a message if you have any questions.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I adopted two new cats from a shelter back in August named Twix and KitKat. They were very timid and anxious but taught me a lot about patience and letting them dictate the pace of our interactions. I think letting a timid, anxious cat dictate the interactions is the best way for them to warm up to you—what I mean by that is don’t force interactions, don’t make any sudden movements when interacting, be soft spoken, and of course offer a treat or two.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
