Cat Sitting in Largo, FL

I'm a five-star sitter on Rover with repeat clients, and I've spent most of my life around cats and learning how different they all are. Some cats want attention immediately, some need space first, and some act like tiny suspicious roommates evaluating your vibes from across the room for 48 hours.

A lot of my clients tell me their cats "never come out for strangers," which honestly tends to make me love them more.

Those are often the same cats who end up greeting me the next day, hanging out nearby, asking for attention, or slowly deciding I've been accepted into their tiny inner circle...

Those are often the same cats who end up greeting me the next day, hanging out nearby, asking for attention, or slowly deciding I've been accepted into their tiny inner circle.

I'm especially good with shy, anxious, cautious, or sensitive cats because I don't believe in forcing interaction. I pay attention to body language, routines, personality, and comfort levels so they can warm up at their own pace and feel safe while you're away.

I also know how stressful it can feel leaving your pets with someone else, so I make communication a huge priority. I send regular updates, photos, and videos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy, cared for, and doing well.

My clients often describe me as communicative, dependable, attentive, thorough, and calming, and I genuinely treat every animal like an individual instead of just another booking.

Whether your cat is affectionate, talkative, playful, elderly, independent, chaotic, or a tiny furry cryptid hiding under the couch, I'm happy to meet them where they are.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve lived with and cared for cats since I was three years old, which gives me over 30 years of experience understanding their personalities, boundaries, and body language. Caring for cats has always been a natural part of my life, whether it’s my own cats, my sister’s cats, friends’ cats, or pet sitting for clients. I’ve also cared for cats through Rover (even though the platform is often dog-focused), and many of my cat sitting clients come to me directly through word of mouth. Spending time with a wide range of cats over the years has made me very comfortable with different temperaments and routines. One thing I hear often from owners is that their cat “never comes out for strangers.” Those are usually the cats that end up greeting me at the door or asking for belly rubs by the next visit.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

One of the best things you can do is watch how your cat responds to the person. Cats are excellent judges of character, and they usually let you know pretty quickly if someone’s energy feels comfortable to them. If your cat is shy, that’s completely normal. In that case, I’d pay attention to how the sitter adapts their body language and approach. Someone who understands cats will move calmly, respect their space, and allow the cat to set the pace for interaction. It’s also important to find someone who asks thoughtful questions about your cat’s routine. Even though cats are independent, they really thrive on consistency. A good sitter focuses on keeping their environment and schedule as normal as possible.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

With timid or anxious cats, the most important thing is making sure they feel safe in their own home. I always ask where their preferred hiding spots or safe spaces are, and I make sure to respect those areas so they know they have somewhere they can retreat to without being disturbed. From there, it’s really about patience. I move calmly, give them space, and let them observe me at their own pace. Just because a cat is shy doesn’t mean they don’t want attention. Often they simply need a little extra time to feel comfortable. By respecting their boundaries and letting them approach when they’re ready, most timid cats begin to relax and show their personality much sooner than expected.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Largo cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
