During my visits, I’ll make sure your cat has fresh food and water, a clean litter... Hi! I’m Kara, a lifelong animal lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with cats. I’ve cared for many cats over the years and worked as a vet assistant a few years back, so I have experience with a variety of personalities, from social and playful to shy and independent. I also have experience administering oral and other types of medication when needed.
During my visits, I’ll make sure your cat has fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and quality time that’s tailored to their personality, and I’ll always follow your care instructions and routine closely. I know every cat is different, so I let them set the pace (playing with their favorite toy, keeping them company, giving them space until they feel comfortable, etc.)
I’ll also send plenty of photo updates so you know how your cat is doing and can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. I’m very dependable, punctual, and communicative, so whenever you need me, I’m here! I’d love the opportunity to get to know your sweet baby and make sure they’re happy and well cared for while you’re away. :)

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to spend time with cats and building a bond with them while their owners are away. I absolutely love that every cat has their own personality, routines, and little quirks, and knowing what makes each one feel comfortable and cared for. I love giving them attention, playtime, and companionship while their owners are gone, and also giving them peace of mind knowing their cat is in good hands.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When I begin working with a new cat parent, I start by learning as much as possible about their cat’s personality, routine, and specific needs. I ask about feeding schedules, litter box habits, favorite toys, medications, and any behaviors and preferences that will help me make their cat feel comfortable and safe. While visiting, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent as possible in place of their owners and sending updates so the owner feels connected and reassured while they’re away. I also make sure to clearly communicate and ask questions if anything were to come up.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am someone that is always respectful of one’s home. I am always attentive and consistent with the cat’s established routines as well. I always like to make sure I understand all instructions from the owner before starting care, and asking any questions when needed. For safety, I always make sure the doors and other escape routes (like the windows) are locked, the cat is in a safe environment (no sharp tools or dangerous items visible), all care instructions are followed, and any changes in their behavior or health are noted immediately. I also like to give regular updates and photos to owners so they can have peace of mind for their cat and home while they’re away.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Miami cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
