Hi, I’m Jessie! I’m currently owned by six cats and two dogs, and I have been actively fostering since 2017. My specialty when fostering are the scared and hissy babies who need socializing and the major medical cases.

Each cat is different and I approach them individually. If your cat is terrified of new people, I’m happy to sneak in, take care of things as quietly as possible, and leave them alone. I don’t want to traumatize them! If they’re a snuggle bug or like to play, I’m thrilled to spend time with them making their day better. It all depends on the cat.

I also have experience caring for a feral colony, so if you’re worried about your community cats while you’re away, I’ve got you covered there, too!

Learn More About Jessica

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have sat for both dogs and cats going back to the early 2000’s. I’ve done drop-in visits as well as stayed in the home so the more social animals aren’t left alone for long periods of time - including two weeks for an indoor/outdoor cat who thought my reason for existence was to let him in and out a minimum of 20 times each evening. I began fostering in 2017, so I’ve had a wide variety of cat personalities of all ages come through my own home. I have administered more oral, topical, and injectable meds and fluids than I can count. I also understand the importance of a clean litter box!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My husband and I have six cats! Crush was adopted as a kitten with a significant skull fracture; Darwin was a feral foster kitten we couldn’t touch for the first month but we won him over; Bat and Clay were bottle babies I grew a little too attached to; Nutmeg was found as a stray at UWF and found a safe home with us; and Francis came to us as a semi-feral adult who had been living outside with a severe food allergy and blood leukemia. We love them all and still foster in addition! RIP Chase (Addisons Disease, interstitial cystitis), Heidi (long term Lactulose patient), Isabelle, Monkey, Ricki, Novak (liver shunt), Peeve (FIV), and Temple (semiferal).

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

It all starts with the meet and greet! I’ll come to your home in advance of your reservation to meet you and the kitties. You can show me where the supplies are kept and the most common hiding places if your baby is shy.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I work full time and have major holidays off. Because we have so many pets, we rarely travel. I’d love to help take care of your babies so you can get away, even if I can’t!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I enjoy gaining the trust of scared or anxious cats and am exceptionally patient about it. I try to respect the cat and let them decide to accept me on their own terms by giving them space, treats, and slow blinks. I rarely pick cats up and generally am able to get them to cooperate with what needs to be done. It may not be as fast, but that’s okay with me.

Jessica did an amazing job taking care of my cats. She spent quality time with them, played with them, and made sure they felt comfortable and loved while I was away. It was clear she genuinely cares about animals, and I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such great hands. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Jessica is fantastic! Any cat in her care is loved and treated as her own. You’d have a hard time finding a cat sitter as experienced as she is. She has extensive experience with everything from tiny kittens to senior cats, and she’s comfortable handling a wide range of needs. I can personally attest to her abilities, as she is my go-to house and pet sitter. She always takes perfect care of my critters and leaves my house exactly as I left it. I know I never have to worry when they are in her care.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Milton cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
