What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have approximately 8 years of sitting experience, starting with dogs in/out of my own home & cats in client's homes throughout my highschool years and early twenties. I've mainly sat for family, friends, and neighbors, but I've been looking to expand and meet new clients!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 3 boys! Boots & Binx, my 2 year old tabby and black cats, and Kitkat, my 12 year old tuxedo. KitKat has chronic kidney issues, which is how I learned to administer various meds like ointments, pills, dropper meds, and sub q's.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
While cat sitting, I ensure safety by making sure all external doors/windows are shut and locked tightly, toys are picked up and put away out of cat's reach after playtime, and making sure their water is fresh and clean of any debris like hair or bugs. I also make note of any houseplants or wires around and ensure kitties are not drawn to chew on them. If there are any hazards, I rectify them as reasonably as possible and reach out to the client so they're aware and can give further instruction if needed. And as always, I visually check that the cat(s) is in sight and safe right before the end of a drop in/visit.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I prefer to stay in my home area during the holidays, as I have quite a few kitties as well
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love catnip-stuffed kicker toys. Not only are they one of the safest options, but seeing a cat bunny kick and go crazy always makes me smile
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
With particularly shy cats, I enter the space quietly, keep my voice low, and get down to the ground as to not intimidate them by towering over them. I will usually sit in one spot, with my hand extended out, and let the kitty come to me. If the cat hides and doesn't want to come out, I will sit with them for a few minutes before quietly completing any tasks from the client, so the cat can see I'm no harm and acting just like their owners would at home. If possible, I will try to give them treats calmly so they can have a positive association with me.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
