Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently share my home with Nomi, a petite black stray found by a friend on a construction site, of all places! 😔 I knew that the Cat Distribution System had worked its magic again and brought us together. It took a little bit of time to assure Nomi that she is safe with me, as she had already been fending for herself for about 6 months in the wild, but she has blossomed into a full-on cuddler! 💕
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would say that the most important thing, if I was looking for a sitter for my own Kitty, would be to find someone that I felt would 1)care for my cat as they would care for their very own cat, and 2) someone who is attentive, responsible, and experienced enough to prioritize your cat's safety and comfort above all else!
What is your favorite cat toy?
Cat Dancer. 100%. Because it uses cardboard, much like the toilet paper roll from the trash that your cat is tearing up right now, while sitting next to a giant basket of toys you carefully selected and brought home for them!!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Whenever I encounter a skittish kitty, I make sure to let them take charge of the encounter. I want them to know that I respect their timing and their comfort level, so that they can approach me when they are ready. Extending a gentle hand to allow for a preliminary sniff is usually the best introduction, and if the cat responds with head butting or rubbing, I will attempt some gentle petting. I just try to be very attentive to the cat's body language in order to feel out how they are responding, and go from there!

Tara’s bright, kind soul is absolutely perfect for this. When she looked after my cat Luca, she followed all the directions I gave her to look after my little boy. She’s respectful and kind towards any cat I’ve seen her interact with and to top it off, my cat isn’t fond of other people but for the first time he was actually comfortable with another person. I will definitely trust someone like Tara to look after my cat again!!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
