I grew up in a house where rescue and shelter cats ruled the roost, so I’ve been caring for kitties of all ages and personalities pretty much my whole life. From shy seniors to wild little furballs, I know how to help any cat feel comfy, safe, and loved. Right now, I’m a Cell and Molecular Biology student at Augusta University (future dentist in the making!) and share my life with Leo, my sweet 13-year-old kitty who’s been by my side since he was a tiny kitten... Hi there! I’m Amber, your friendly neighborhood cat sitter!

When I’m cat sitting, your cat will get the same patient, gentle care I give Leo. I’ll follow your instructions to a T, feeding, medication, litter box duty, you name it. I love spending time playing, cuddling (if they’re into it!), and just hanging out on their terms because let’s be real, the cat’s always the boss! I’ll also make sure you get cute photo updates so you know they’re doing great.
I’m available after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends, ready to give your kitty the best staycation ever! I can’t wait to meet your fur baby! 🐱🐾

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I’ve had cats my whole life, so I‘ve become very skilled in making sure they don’t slip out when opening the door 😂. In addition, I always double check all doors are locked before I leave. I make sure that any main bags of food or cans are properly stored away out of the cat’s reach.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am pretty much available all holidays, except for Thanksgiving. Feel free to double check with me through message!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
From my experience in past with an extremely timid cat, I know that the best way to approach them is with a calm demeanor and lots of patience. Getting low to their level, speaking in a soft voice, avoiding sudden movements, and utilizing treats are some of my favorite strategies in getting cats like these to warm up. If the cat still isn’t receptive, that’s okay because trust takes time.

Amber is an absolute Pro in interacting with my vet skittish 15 year old ginger girl, Missy.She takes great care to engage with Missy on her terms- being able to actually”see” Missy if you are a relative stranger is a phenomenon … I believe Amber must have unparalleled patience bc Missy can be quite stubborn about engaging … but Amber has managed to bring her around relatively quickly. And as importantly, Amber knows when to push a bit for interaction and when to back off . It goes without saying that all the basics of care are attended. Amber has become such a valuable resource to me when I need to be out of town- so grateful for her service!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Augusta cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Amber is a great cat sitter and has genuine affection for animals. You can notice this in the way she takes care of her own cat. Leo. She shows patience, dependability, and responsibility. When I was on vacation, Amber made sure that my cat felt relaxed and looked after properly. Anyone would be lucky to have her look after their furry family member.

Amber is one of the most caring and dependable people I know, and she’s amazing with cats. She’s patient, gentle, and really takes the time to understand each cat’s personality and needs. Whether it’s giving medication, keeping things clean, or just spending time with them, she does everything with care.
