What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I love to do meet and greets just so the cat can meet me and I can go over the care with the owner and ask any questions in the moment. I always send pictures for every visit and be sure to give an update on how the cats are doing! My goal is to make sure both the owner and the cat feel as comofortable as possible.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always take a cautious approach to anxious/timid cats. I like to sit in the room with them and try to bring them out of their shell, but I also respect some cats do not want to be social. Whatever demeanor your cat has, I am happy to work with!

I highly recommend Claire! She took great care of my two cats and sent sweet photos of them and blurbs about them every day. She even spent more time with my cats on the first evening to give them some emotional support, because they were sad that we had left for our trip. She even charmed my more shy cat! She went above and beyond by bringing our cans in from the curb. We will definitely ask her to cat sit again!

Claire was absolutely wonderful! This was my first time leaving my baby girl with someone new, and I was a bit nervous. My kitty is shy around new people, and usually just hides during visits. On only the second visit, she was comfortable with Claire and came out to talk with her. Claire sent updates every day as soon as she was here and was very kind and patient with my cat. I’ve already booked Claire for another visit!

Claire was a fantastic sitter for our two cats. She was able to charm our extremely shy senior lady, and our younger, usually aloof and sassy girl was social and sweet with Claire. Not all cat sitters get this type of behavior from our cats so that shows me they really liked her! She communicated with us at each feeding and provided great pictures. We would definitely book with Claire again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Lawrenceville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
