What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Outside of living with Sabali, I’ve also cared for friends’ and neighbors’ cats over the years, each one with their own rhythm. I take my time building trust through body language, respecting boundaries, and reading the unspoken energy. Whether it’s a social butterfly or a reclusive nap queen, I’ve learned to adjust my presence and pace accordingly. I treat every cat with the same honor I give Sabali..like they’re the elders of the house and I’m the guest.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! My cat Sabali Sebastian has been with me since 2019 and is truly my soul companion. He’s gentle, intuitive, and a little spoiled (in the best way). We have such a strong bond that I’ve learned to read his moods, respect his space, and give him the love and autonomy cats deserve. I also fostered a kitten named Orion Rockett for about six months. She was full of sass and sparkle and LOTS of energy, hence her name! Though I eventually had to rehome her, she definitely left her pawprint on my heart.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Slowly and soulfully. I let them take the lead, starting with just being nearby without eye contact, letting them sense I’m safe. Sometimes I’ll hum gently or offer a toy from a distance. I don’t force connection.. I hold space until it’s earned. I speak softly, mirror their energy, and give lots of verbal praise even when there’s no physical interaction yet. Respecting their nervous system is the first step toward trust.

Jessi is a really great cat sitter. This was our first time working with her and I am really grateful we found her. She took excellent care of our boys. We were gone for 11days, she didnt just feed them and tend to their litter box, but she really took the time to play with them and spend time giving them lots of love and scritches. But also kept the house tidy and looked after our house plants too. I really appreciate her care, kindness, and attention to the boys and I will definitely book with her next time we need a cat sitter ❤️ Thank you Jessi!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Savannah cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
