I have experience with administering medication. I have administered pills, liquid medication, ear drops/ointment, eye drops and oral immunotherapy. I understand the importance of making sure all medication is administered accurately.
I’m detailed in performing care as discussed with you to ensure your cats are happy and healthy while you are gone... I’ve always loved cats and consider myself a cat person. I grew up with cats, have 2 cats of my own currently and have over 10 years of cat care experience. I'm experienced with cats of all personalities, understanding their body language and boundaries. Every cat has a unique personality and I've always taken time to get to know each cat and find what works best for them.

I’m detailed in performing care as discussed with you to ensure your cats are happy and healthy while you are gone. Any remaining time during drop-in will be spent playing with cat or giving them attention (whatever they prefer). Unless you request otherwise, I will always spend the full booked time at your home making sure your cat is comfortable even if your cat is hiding. Some cats need a little extra time to adjust so I always take my time and quietly talk to them, play some relaxing music and let them sniff me out from a distance. I find these tasks help cats adjust and can bring a shy cat out of hiding. I want your cat to feel as comfortable as they can with me so I’m best able to care for them and notice any changes while you are gone.
I am able to come by mornings, late afternoon and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Please reach out with your pet's needs and preferred drop in times.
I know how hard it is to leave your cats at home while on vacation and I want to make things as comfortable as possible for you and your cat.

I’ve been cat sitting for friends and families for years and have been pet sitting professionally for over 1 year.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I always start by setting up a meet and greet to go over care details. This is your opportunity to ask me questions and make sure you feel comfortable with me taking care of your cat(s). It’s also a good opportunity for me to meet your cat and go over what you are wanting done while you are gone. As we go over things, I’ll ask questions on details. I have a list of things I need to know so I’ll ask anything that I feel was missed.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always ask about hiding spots when meeting with you. I find your cat and spend time in their general area. I watch body language to make sure they are not too stressed while staying close enough that they can sniff me and watch me. I will quietly talk to them and/or play relaxing music for cats. I let them approach when they’re ready.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Iowa City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
