My fiance and I currently have 4 of our own and I have had at least one since I was 12 years old and have been a pet sitter for over 10 years.
I am a fairly laid back person with extreme flexibility in my daily life that allows me to do a job like this. I am a gamer designer and writer at home when not sitting. Used to be a house cleaner as well, so i always like to make each house i go to look exactly how it was when you left it even when the cats like to make messes.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have had to cat sit for family and friends for a couple decades. Some are easier than others as my sisters cat taught me as a younger sitter to always pay attention to body language. Since a little stabbing of my elbow for having the audacity to feed her when she was still trying to sleep, I have learned a lot.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Meeting new cats and helping people. I have had situations where I need help with my pets but no one was around so I had to turn down gigs, events, and more because I refuse to put them in a pet hotel. This allows me to help people keep their pets in the environment they know and love, albeit with a random stranger showing up for a bit a couple times a day, but still in their own territory.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 4 cats currently. Squirrel, our 8 year old Russian blue, was a runt of a litter who's brother Moose (who has since passed away due to cancer) protected him when he was fostered with a not as nice family. Fox is our 4 year old chaos orange kittywho keeps lossing the shared braincell. He is immune and intellectually compromised. Flying from one side of the house to another with a few bumps along the way he always keeps us on our toes. Mulder was found on a highway where I sprinted across the street to catch him at 3 weeks old. He has turned into a very smart fancy tux. Bra'tac (Brae-Tac) is our newest kitty. A very sweet but absolutely food obsessed little guy.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Make sure all questions and concerns are prepped beforehand. A good sitter has most of the questions they want/need to ask handy but anything you can think of is good to have prepared. Even the odd ones like "sometimes they get their toy lost under the fridge, could you do a quick check for that" type of question is good to have prepped. Outside of that, knowing timing constraints, medications, what to do for emergencies, etc. is all good to have prepped as well. If you feel the sitter is not a good fit based on the big issues, never feel bad to keep looking. This is part of the family after all and all parties should feel comfortable before proceeding.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am usually available for the holidays. It can vary a little bit and there is usually an upcharge for it, but I am all good helping out over any holiday.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Hard to go wrong with a laser pointer, but after that I love wands that are long enough to drag on the ground.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a cat with some extreme anxiety, and have take care of many with the same issue. With my cat, fairly easy to calm him down. With others, everything is on their time, I never force an issue. I will sit in their space and maybe talk to them, offer a hand, but they can approach on their own. I often have treats ready for when/if they get close enough to me. I try to talk softly when they eat, to familiarize them with me during a good moment like eating food. But I do not push them out of their comfort zone as best I can. They will let me know when I'm accepted.

I needed someone to watch our three cats for two weeks, with one cat needing a daily oral medication. This was my first time using Meowtel and our experience with Jason could not have been better! We were absolutely impressed with Jason. He did an amazing job and kept us up to date with how our cats were doing. He made sure our diabetic cat got his insulin and spent time with all of cats (4). Jason cared for our three cats from Thursday to Saturday and truly went above and beyond. He made sure they were fed and played with, and he left detailed, thoughtful updates about each cat after every visit. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were safe, happy, and well cared for while we were away. On top of that, Jason also took care of our birds by bringing their feeder in and out, brought in our packages, and even handled our trash cans, which was incredibly appreciated. He left a very sweet handwritten card and two Churu treats for the cats, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. It’s clear that Jason genuinely cares about the pets (and the home) he’s responsible for. Anyone would be lucky to have him as their pet sitter, and we will absolutely be hiring him again in the future. Highly recommend!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Aurora cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Jason is an excellent sitter. He’s very attentive, responsive, and incredibly accommodating. It’s also a bonus that he’s knowledgeable about kitty needs, and made careful notes when my cat needed extra help with eating. So when I come home, I’m picking up where he last left off, tuning in to take care of my girls. Jason also goes above and beyond, taking out our trash, and replenishing our litter liner—just making sure our home felt maintained. He is THAT sitter 🙌🏼
