What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

My first ever catsitting was for one adult cat in 2021 for 2 weeks or so. The next one was in 2022 for 7 adult cats my ex had and it was for a few months intermittently with his mom’s help. In 2023 I catsit a senior cat for a week or so then “fostered” a pregnant cat who gave birth to 6 kittens in 2024 and now I am a guardian of my own 4 cats. (3 kittens went to lovely houses)

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure to crack open the door while blocking the gap with my body in case kitties try to pop out then lock the door. I’ll be able to spot immediately things that can go wrong with kitties like plastic bags & small objects kitties might accidentally swallow or loose electric chords to play with. If there is a pet camera that are recording or monitoring, that’s totally fine with me and honestly it’s better that way when the guardian is away. I’ll double check if all the windows and doors are properly closed and locked and no fire hazard is on before leaving.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I am a cat-breathing user. I am the cat bender. A hardcore old-school-wand-swinging expert. I have been playing with multiple kittens for over a year every day. I did try using automatic toys or laser pointer but nothing beats me imitating a small bug movement to stimulate the kitties.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Never rush. Kitties need to come to you. It’s smart for them to be cautious with a stranger so I’ll stay calm while taking care of basic necessities such as cleaning the litterboxes, refilling food and water. Kitties observe you and decide if they can trust you or not. I’ll try to give them some snacks like Churu to be more friendly but if they are not interested, that’s totally okay. I’ll just make sure to move quietly and slowly so the cats won’t get stressed.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
