I specialize in cats that require a little extra space and time to warm up to new people.
In nearly 25 years of cat companionship, I've had some stellar experiences. In college, I would fly across the country with my cat Misu to visit home. Currently, my partner in crime Walter McGee is leash trained and enjoys long drives to Culvers for ice cream.
I never pressure a new friend into interacting with me at any point. I've had some cats that crawl up in my lap on the first visit, and some that I only slip peeks. I'm here to make sure your feline friend feels taken care of and is supported while you're away, and that includes giving them space when they need it.
I send photo updates and text updates as discussed, and am thrilled to talk in detail about my services. Let's chat!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting for over 10 years off the platform with several happy human and feline clients! I have developed several regular Meowtel clients, and appreciate working with the platform.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love the opportunity to meet new faces and spread joy with cats and community members that I meet on Meowtel. I also love taking pictures of the cats I meet and sharing them with their humans while they are away!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
The first cat that I sat for on Meowtel is a true Tiger! He enjoys playing with his stick toy, laying in the sun, and hanging out. He's a real ham for the camera too, and I love being able to share what he's up to with his human! I've had the opportunity to watch him several times, and I'm always thrilled when he comes up on my schedule.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Walter McGee is the sweetest lap cat ever. He loves long drives in the car, ice cream nibbles, and chicken.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I try to be available during most holidays, and usually have 3 or 4 months of availability on my schedule open at all times. Need a date that isnt available yet? Messgae me!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
If cats arent ready to be friends right away, that's OK! I usually spend the first 25% of time per visit bonding. Sometimes that is just sitting on the floor in the same room as the cat and seeing if they come to me before starting food, water, and litter. I never try to pet a cat without having them sniff me first and believing that they are comfortable being pet. I also never pick up cats unless absolutely needed, such as for safety or for giving medication.

I was nervous about leaving my baby, Pink, for a week, but Lauren was absolutely incredible with her in every way. Pink has multiple medications she has to take and Lauren was so skilled in making sure she got all of them and sticking to the very unique routine we have, lol! I would absolutely trust Lauren in looking after Pink again.

Lauren is fantastic. She was able to interact regularly with our very shy cat. She is very attentive and is really good with details. 10/10 would recommend. Plus I have some incredible kitty pictures now. Lauren really went above and beyond to make sure things were normal and regular for our kitty. And she communicated and turn our old timey AC down in the summer, huge blessing! We will be using her again in the future.

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Champaign cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
